Customer Technical Service (CTS) Application Scientist Intern
Requirements:
We are looking for a summer intern. Projects may include working with a cross-functional team (CTS (Customer Technical Service), R&D, Technical Developers and Marketing) to determine and qualify new and existing Food Applications for Roquette’s plant-based ingredient portfolio, such as proteins, fibers, polyols etc.
Support the creation of new or existing applications highlighting the unique functionalities of our ingredients, aligned with business priorities
Determine the functionalities and impact related to our plant-based ingredients using chemical & physical analysis, and Sensory testing
Communicate with all levels of Roquette team members, as well as the plant based and scientific communities
Specific projects will be assigned based on the priorities above and the candidate's professional and developmental interests.
Collaborate with peers to deliver project results as requested in a timely manner
Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, show strong self-motivation and initiative
Present final report and presentation on assigned project completed during the intern period to Roquette’s technical community
Education Requirement:
To be considered for an internship position, you must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate senior, majoring in an applicable field, such as Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry and/ or Food Engineering for the 2023-2024 academic year OR are currently enrolled as a graduate student pursuing a Masters or PhD in Food Science.
Required Experience and Skills:
Candidates must have completed at least three years of studies toward bachelor’s degree by June 2024. Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) weeks from May - August 2024. You will need to be available to work at Roquette in Geneva, IL, Monday through Friday during the internship season.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Candidates should have significant interest in food science, food technology, food chemistry and/ or food engineering. Candidates should have basic laboratory skills and laboratory experience and good lab practices (GLP’s). Candidates should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Program Leadership
A Program Director and Executive Leader administer the HSB program and ensure the intern receives feedback on character, skills, growth, and performance. An Executive Mentor is assigned to each intern and serves as a consistent professional resource for the duration of the internship.

Support GTM/Merchandising Team on various activities incl. creation of GTM/Merchandising tools like workbooks, flow plans, KI decks, sell-in tools, reports and presentations/meeting preparations, etc.
Be the link between Area’s, Key Account teams and GTM/Merchandising
Gain understanding of Retail & Wholesale Go-to-Market / Merchandising organizations and processes
Gain knowledge of the FTW product marketplace and current trends
Assist in the set-up of meetings and conference calls (e.g. seasonal product meetings, Go-To-Market meetings, etc.)
Assist with administrative/operational tasks, including sample handling and tracking, travel bookings, system maintenance, consolidation of various functional supportive information, creation of presentations and ad-hoc reports, etc.
Assist with the creation, communication and tracking of NRP’s (National Regional products) and local production for India, South Africa and Turkey.
Update and optimize the intranet Teamplace as a service to Area’s, BU’s and Regional teams and attend seasonal product and GTM meetings
Enrolled student for the whole period of the internship, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing or similar
Advanced user knowledge in Excel and Powerpoint and familiar with working with databases
Fluent English skills (written and spoken), German a plus
Teamplayer mentality with the ability to work independently as well
Ability to multi-task and to support a diverse team of Merchandising experts
Organizational talent with an eye for detail and accuracy
Interest in design and product (Footwear, Apparel, Accessories)
Ability to liaise with multiple partners in various countries as well as global functions

Learn the entire creative design process from first sketch to final product
Be responsible for one self-directed, individual projects and support in launching product design ideas in line with specific product strategies
Generate and present strong product stories, designs and mood boards
Under the direction of the Design team collect market intelligence, providing the team with accurate and up-to-date information on trends and developments
Assist the Design team in the creation and maintenance of creative directions, product designs, tech packs, presentation materials, design mini sheets and specifications
Support the Design team on general tasks, such as create drawings, data management and database upkeep
Enrolled as a Design student in a related creative field (fashion design)
Proficient Adobe Creative suite skills (Photoshop and Illustrator are a must) and MS Office
Knowledge of 3D modeling is a plus (experience with software like Browzwear/Vstitcher, Clo3D, Modo, Rhino, Keyshot etc.)
Self-starter: taking initiative, working independently and a hands-on approach with a strong storytelling ability
Familiarity with market trends relevant to Design and Motorsport in general
Excellent written and spoken English language skills, project and time management skills
