SMC (Sports Massage Clinic) specializes in musculoskeletal sports and massage therapy. We are expanding and looking for an intern to train and fill the position of Sports Therapist.
The intern will be trained to provide one-to-one sports therapy and exercise prescriptions with knowledge and explanation of human biomechanics function to new and existing clients. Our clientele are athletes, office professionals and the general population. The intern will be trained and certified in our unique sports massage technique and assessment skills.
The intern will be involved in:

Competencies:
1) 1 year of sports massage experience is preferred
2) Previous clinical experience as a physiotherapy/chiropractic assistant or fitness/personal trainer will be an advantage

5) Must be physically active and must have a sport as a hobby
Education:
1) Higher NITEC in Sports Management or Exercise Science or Certificate in Sports Massage or WSQ in Holistic Massage is a MUST

Overview
The Riverside Health System provides a temporary paid student internship program that creates an opportunity to gain invaluable experience through a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and project work designed to give broad exposure to the inner workings of a health care system. This temporary paid internship program consists of various assignments throughout the health system combined with leadership development opportunities. Cornell University Recreational Services is seeking an intern to assist in the management of the Intramural Sports program. The program features 30 intramural leagues, single-day tournaments, and special events, and has access to multiple sites for indoor and outdoor activities as well as sporting equipment for the campus community to check-out during the year. The department is overseen by the Robert D. Kennedy ’54 Director of Intramural Sports, along with 4-5 student coordinators and 15-20 intramural student supervisors. The program proudly employs over 75 intramural officials with opportunities for experiential learning and growth. The Intern will also provide building supervision of Noyes Community Recreation Center during academic breaks and special events and will assist with other special events within Recreational Services and the Department of Athletics.
The goal of the internship is to receive continuing education in campus recreation through immersive, on-site training and application. This position will provide a more comprehensive knowledge base and is aligned toward the preparation for the field of collegiate campus recreation as a Graduate Assistant (if candidate has completed a Bachelors Degree) or entry-level professional position (if candidate has completed a Masters Degree).
The internship is a full-time, ten-month appointment (August 1st 2024 - May 31st 2025) with a monthly living allowance of $1,750. Professional development opportunities will be provided as budget allows. No relocation expenses or Visa sponsorship are available for this internship.
