We are recruiting to join our Transport Team at our Booker Retail Partner site. In this position, you will support the site management team in the efficient and cost effective management of the Transport operations.
This role is on rotating shifts working on a 2 weekly pattern:
- Week 1: 6am - 2pm
- Week 2: 2pm - 10pm
The objective of the role is to ensure that our large, fast-moving Transport operation runs smoothly and efficiently, by achieving optimum service levels across all contracts whilst working to specific KPIs.
The transport team manager will manage vehicle breakdowns whilst ensuring that the impact to the retailer is kept to a minimum. You will also be responsible for analysing Tacho-graph infringement report and go through infringement with drivers as well as liaising with the Warehouse Operation to ensure timely loading and departure of loads.
Management of ensuring legal compliance with all transport legislation and in particular Driver’s hours and maintenance of the Fleet so that it is available when required for servicing and MOT’s and Defect Management of the Fleet is also a requirement of the role.
Throughout this role, you will be responsible for managing up to 70 members of the Transport department whether they be drivers or clerks.
Due to the nature of the job, you will have knowledge of the transport function within the FMCG distribution industry and have previous working knowledge of the business and operational aspects of supervising a depot transport operation. The Regional Contracts Manager for Supply Chain will be key stakeholder focused on pre and post-award contract management. This individual will have extensive knowledge of the contract administration of large construction contracts as it relates to management of a contractor or service provided through the lifetime of the contracted scope. This person will be expected to drive best practices / concepts for the full spectrum of activities that are associated with contractor post-award management including, performance reporting and monitoring, change management, invoice validation, formal correspondence, and closeout. This individual should have extensive contract experience and understand the nuances of how contracts are administered. The individual will have knowledge of the various types of contract methods (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, CM, EPCM, etc.) as well as the different pricing formats (Lump Sum, GMP, T&M, Cost+, Unit Price) that work can be based on commercially. This individual will also have extensive experience in the analysis and negotiation of Change Orders submitted by GCs.

Drives business impact by establishing functional standards and procurement performance expectations that define relevant process and compliance success metrics, while also identifying opportunities for improving process efficiency and policy compliance. Applies end-to-end expertise and leverages market intelligence to develop and influence Microsoft-wide channel strategies that optimize for value and enable execution with consistency, accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
