The Reporting and Analytics team in Serco Business Services (SBS) are responsible for the delivery of data analysis, analytics, and reporting across our corporate functions. Using leading Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud, we develop enterprise
- wide reporting and analytics to help inform strategic decision making across HR, IT, Fleet, Finance, and Procurement functions.
The team is recognised across the organisation as experts in data analytics and are developing best practice solutions to meet the needs of a continually evolving business.
Our strategy is to enable data-informed decision making across the services, creating the right self-service reporting solutions, driving automated analytics, whilst analysing our data to help identify opportunities to enable business performance.
The analysts work through the end
- to
- end cycle of requirements gathering, report/dashboard development, analysing and interpreting the results to highlight insights for our customers and we are now looking for a Procurement Insights Analyst to join the team.
As part of this you will
- Work with procurement team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for the reporting/analytics solution.
- Undertake the development of descriptive/diagnostic analytics solutions, such as self-service dashboards, to enable customers from the procurement domain to gain visibility of key management information and insights.
- Identify and realise opportunities to streamline the existing reporting delivery and the methods of delivering reports and dashboards to customers.
- Support the development of the corporate Business Warehouse environments, working closely with teams in IT and third parties to identify and highlight data quality or integrity issues, and recommend new improvements to enhance reporting.
- Quickly understand new areas of business and technology enabling impactful and effective conversations with the stakeholders.
What you’ll need to do the role
- Knowledge and experience of development within business intelligence tools and tools such as Microsoft Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Statistical orientation with expertise in EDA.
- Strong data visualisation and presentation skills.
- Data manipulation skills, including ability to extract, transform, and analyse data sets using BI tools.
- Ability to problem solve, break down complex issues and develop solutions based on findings in the data.
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written as you will need to be able to simply communicate complex issues, processes, and data to a non-technical audience.
Not essential, but advantageous:
- Experience of working with procurement function.
- Exposure to advanced analytics practices.
