Major Duties:

This position serves as the SAH Agent will perform an array of duties with the purpose of conducting construction, remodeling, and home adaptation projects, from proposal through completion related to the Specially Adapted Housing/Special Home Adaptation (SHA) program and Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E) as required to properly support Veterans with specific adaptive needs. Responsibilities include:

Technical Services and Oversight: Case-Specific Design and Construction, Remodel, Adaptation

• Leads design review discussions, in person, by phone, or electronically to educate the SAH Agent, Veteran, contractor, architects, and other Veteran-facing stakeholders.

Major Duties:

At the PDC you will be asked to assist Disaster Survivors to return damaged or destroyed homes, businesses, rentals, non-profits, etc., as well as, personal and business contents back to a pre-disaster condition. This will require the reviewing of supporting documentation which may include estimates, contracts, proposals, plans, drawings, etc. Duties will also consist of auditing receipts, estimates, bids, proposals and invoices to facilitate in the funding of disaster repair and reconstruction projects to completion. What will I do in this position if hired? 

In this position, you will develop cost estimates for repairs and reconstruction of infrastructure, roads, and/or public facilities. The individual will serve as a Costing Specialist at the Public Assistance Consolidated Resource Center (CRC) and will develop scopes of work and cost estimates for Public Assistance grants. Typical duties include:

• Developing cost estimates and scopes of work (method of repair/reconstruction) for disaster-related repairs and reconstruction of infrastructure, roads, and/or public facilities.
• Reviewing cost estimates from other parties to ensure they are reasonable, accurate, and in compliance with applicable standards.
• Identifying missing information and coordinating with counterparts to resolve.
