About this Opportunity:
As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions. This position is responsible for all of the accounting functions of the assigned subsidiary companies as well as the communication to top management of all financial aspects. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.
In this role, you’ll get to:
Ensure all financial reporting statements are prepared accurately and presented on time
Provide for timely preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial data statements
Assist in monthly financial close process and ensures financial statements for the assigned companies are completed on time and accurately
Assist with annual audit and periodic internal and external audit requests
Improve timing, accuracy and completeness of financial information during month end close process
Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by internal accounting staff after month end close
Oversee productivity of accounting department in order to make sure all transactions and reports are prepared on time
Participate in various planning committees that will set company policy to make sure there are no accounting issues with the new procedures
Actively monitor revenue recognition policies to ensure compliance with GAAP and proper reporting of revenues and related expenses
Manage employees within department including but not limited to hiring, training and developing employees, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, salary recommendations, coaching and counseling, and administering corrective actions
Conduct one-on-one meetings with employees on a regular basis and establish team and individual goals
Assist in the development and administration of accounting systems, practices and procedures which conform to GAAP and reflect operating costs, budgets and profitability
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Conduct periodic audits of company procedures to ensure assets of company are being protected at all times
Coordinate with tax accountants on all NFS entities for Federal, State and local tax returns as well as third party accounting firms on state tax incentive programs to ensure returns are filed in a timely manner
Assist FP&A team in building long-term plans for each department and company as a whole
Assist with inquiries regarding variances between actuals and budgeted amounts as needed
We’re looking for talent who:
Has a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
Current CPA
Has public accounting experience
Has a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible general accounting experience
Has 1-2 years of management/leadership experience
Obtain Orion Industry Certification
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Salary Range:
$103,584.00 - $162,615.00The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
