We are looking to offer a position for an experienced Maintenance Officer / Multi Trade Worker / handyman to work over 2 sites in Chertsey and Kingston you will be at Chertsey 4 days per week and Kingston 1 day per week.

The role is working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm each day - parking is available at each site and you will be paid mileage for your travels.

The role.

As the Maintenance Officer you will take on all minor repairs to the building and the rooms. These are dwellings used by Hospital staff and Key workers, much like a hotel used for overnight stays.

Typical tasks include

Carry out repairs and maintenance duties in accordance with safe operating procedures and relevant health & safety policies.

Maximise site occupancy by ensuring the void repairs/maintenance schedule is completed within target including any fixtures and fittings associated work.

Provide high quality painting and decorating service including preparation of surfaces, filling cracks/holes, efficient use of materials, matching paint shades with existing and maintaining safe areas of work including signage.

Keep all windows, doors, kitchen units and furniture are in working order by repairing, replacing or easing and adjusting.

Maintain a central register of onsite assets including tables, chairs, washing machines/dryers, lamps, fridges/freezers, beds, mattresses, fans, tools and materials.

Maintain onsite facilities by repairing/replacing washers, taps, tiles, ball valves, WC seats, fuses, light bulbs, handles, locks and sealing around baths/sinks/showers.

Ensure all common parts are clear of potential hazards including those attributable to seasonal changes including external footpaths. Keep clear air-bricks, gullies and low level guttering from blockages.

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Resident Construction Engineer - Mechanical to join our team! In this role you will join a leading professional engineering, construction, and cost management team that is involved in multiple projects with Royal Commission in Jazan.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Monitors construction contractors’ mechanical installation and testing activities, including, but not limited to piping, leak tests, duct work & insulation, pumps, building management system, HVAC controls, domestic water systems, foundation, de-watering systems, firefighting system…etc.

• Organizes, coordinates, and conducts in conjunction with the concerned department's acceptance inspections and re-inspections of the completed permanent works until all deficiencies are corrected and signed off.

• Assists the Project Controls Cost Engineer by reviewing contractors’ invoices for the correctness of installed quantities for the mechanical portion of the permanent works.

• Attends regularly scheduled meetings between the Royal Commission Headquarters Construction team and the Contractor.

• Initiates and prepares for SRCM and SRCEs draft mechanical related letters, memos, or reports to contractors and other Departments.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from recognized University with 12 years of mechanical construction supervision experience.

• Must be fluent and be able to effectively communicate in both spoken and written English skills.

• Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), read construction schedules (Primavera).

Our Client based in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Damp & Mould Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, permanent role with the ideal candidate possessing extensive Surveying knowledge and experience ideally for / on behalf of a Social Housing Provider.

The role involves surveying customer homes and communal spaces. You will be working alongside our residents and leaseholders taking ownership of ensuring that repairs are managed end to end and to manage issues and complaints that arise before, during or after works.

You will have surveying experience, preferably in Social Housing. You can carry out building diagnostics and have a working knowledge of the Schedule of rates. You will have an understanding of root cause and solution for damp and mould and be able to identify Asbestos. A great communicator, you will be confident in using Microsoft Office and producing clear reports on your findings. Our Clients next Surveyor will have the ability to work to tight deadlines and within budget. Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is required.

What do you need to do the role?

• A proven track record for delivering/managing multiple technical building projects.
• A working knowledge of Schedule of Rates.
• The ability to give great customer service to all of the alliance homes stakeholders
• A Formal Building qualification such as a RICs accredited course, BSC, HNC, HND or working towards one.
• Good working knowledge of Health and safety regulations and good practices inclusive of Construction design management
• Confident using IT such as Microsoft packages and Outlook.
• Experience of working with asset management, leasehold, response repairs, empty homes and programmed works.
• Experience of identifying Asbestos.
• Awareness of HHSRS risks
• Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
• A full driving licence.

QS Engineer (Mechanical)

Working days: 5 Days

Roles and Responsibilities

· To assist QS Manager to handle and calculate the quantity and costing of the different tender assignments. Technical review on the supplier/contractor quotation or proposal and makes sure that all requirements are complied.

· Familiar and able to understand general contracts and various tender documents.

· Able to provide budget cost or estimates as per instruction.

· Liaise with suppliers for their products and services presentation

· Able to look for solution regarding any technical problems during tender.

· Able to communicate with other Departments in dealing with various documents and issue

· Coordinate with the supplier/contractor regarding follow up on bills and quantities

· To evaluate and check on market unit rates monthly/Quarterly for material and labour cost

· To hand over all tender document and costing to project team once the tender is awarded

· To attend site showround for those tender that we are interested

· To reply tender clarification, preparation for tender interview and presentation

Requirements

· Diploma in Electrical Engineering, as a Quantity Surveyor for 3 - 5 Years
