Job Description

The Fire Training Specialist I - Internal Training coordinates the delivery of Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS)-specific, wildfire and incident management training courses. They will identify training needs within the agency. They will also be knowledgeable of all aspects of TAMFS training programs and participate in emergency response.

Responsibilities:

-Coordinate the delivery of TAMFS-specific, wildfire and incident management training courses. Provide course instruction and support internal and external courses. Prepares and completes reports, monitors performance of instructors and cadre to ensure course quality.

-Identify internal training needs as they relate to natural resources, wildfire and incident management. Develop and deliver an internal training program to meet the needs of field staff. Coordinate with external and AHIMT training to reduce overlap

-Participate in wildfire and all-hazard incident management which may require: working long hours with minimal rest and in primitive condition, exposure to harsh environmental conditions such as smoke, wind, sunlight, rain and temperature extremes, walking long distances, standing for extreme periods, twisting, bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting and carrying large objects, driving motor vehicles for long distances, operating heavy equipment with related exposure to equipment vibration and noise, operating computers and monitors for extended periods of time. Individuals serving in response roles must meet all qualification guidelines, including physical fitness levels.

-Support Internal Training Delivery, Facilitated Learning Analysis Program, Inter agency Wildfire Academies and other training programs.

-Serve as a professional representative of the agency. Assist in answering customer inquiries and resolving customer complaints.

-Manage and account for TAMFS credit cards, vehicle log books, time reports and any assigned TAMFS equipment in accordance with applicable laws, rules, procedures and guidelines.

-Comply with all loss prevention, environmental health and safety standards as established by applicable laws and rules.

-Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Emergency Management, Fire Science, Education or related field

Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Natural Resources, Emergency Management, Fire Science, Education or related field
Required Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience with a recognized wildland fire agency or emergency response agency.

Preferred Experience: Six (6) or more years experience with a recognized fire agency or emergency response organization. Experience as an instructor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required Knowledge: Working knowledge of educational systems, course development and revision, training management principles, instructional processes and methods of adult education. Working knowledge of wildland fire management and operations (NWCG), incident management team (IMT) operation, the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Qualification System (IQS). Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Awareness of natural resource issues in Texas and familiarity of TAMFS natural resource programs.

Required Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills. Sound planning and organizational skills.

Required Abilities: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships within the agency and with cooperating agencies. Ability to manage simple projects and/or events. Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Required: Valid Texas Driver's license or ability to obtain one. NFPA 1041 Instructor I training. S-130/190. ICS-300. ICS-400. S-131 certificate or entry-level training in Plans, Logistics or Finance. Qualified as an FFTI/ICT5 or an entry-level position in Plans, Logistics or Finance

Preferred: NFPA 1041 Instructor II Training. Qualified as a Single Resource Boss or a Unit Leader in Plans, Logistics or Finance

Other Requirements:
-Response to statewide wildland and all-hazard incidents will be required. Individuals serving in fire or emergency response positions must meet and maintain appropriate qualifications and fitness standards.

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Internal Medicine will serve as subject matter expert for the following areas of concentration listed below:

• Works collaboratively with clinical staff and physicians to evaluate appropriate medication use. Annually, specialists will be expected to complete MUE, CE or In-Service (CE preferred), and Drug Class Review. Continued service-line expansions, relevant order set reviews, policy and/or procedure development/modification and formulary monographs may be required when needed. 
• Assists in system formulary management.
• Serves as a clinical pharmacotherapy specialist for providers, pharmacists, nursing, and other staff on clinically complicated patient cases, investigation of ADE’s and/or management of drug shortages as needed.
• Provides verbal and written consultations concerning medication therapy.
• Must be willing to travel to sites to review and assess practices and processes, as required.

Minimum Education and Training

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required. 
• Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and Indiana Board of Pharmacy license or willing and eligible to achieve within 6 months of hire. 
  • Kentucky license must specify that they are a preceptor.
• BPS board certified in their area of expertise or able to achieve within 12 months of hire. Must be one of the following qualifications:
  • Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP)
  • Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist (BCNSP)
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)

Experience

• Must satisfy at least one of the following:

Your new role
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to join their Southampton team, and you will report to a supportive HR Director, working alongside a settled team of 4 including an HR Advisor, an HR Business Partner and an HR Administrator. This hands-on role will support the recruitment of between 40-65 new hires at their Southampton site following a decision to centralise their core business. Working hours: 37.5 / week, Monday-Friday (plus 1 hour lunch). This role offers hybrid working of 3 days office (Southampton) / 2 days WFH per week on average, with flexibility on start / finish times to suit too.

What you'll need to succeed

This opportunity will suit a highly organised, personable individual who would like to join a dynamic organisation in a busy manufacturing environment on a 12-month FTC. You must have the drive and initiative to work well independently, but with the support of a small but experienced HR team as required.

You must have previous experience as an Internal Recruiter or Talent Acquisition professional who has worked with databases / a HRIS (Workday preferred). Knowledge of using MS Word and MS Excel is also essential. A background of working in engineering / manufacturing and the recruitment of such roles at different levels is preferred, but other industries may be considered.

The post holder will be responsible for the instruction, up to Foundation Degree level, (BTEC Higher National equivalent), of military and civilian marine engineering trainees in delivery of theoretical and practical training of in-service Marine Diesel Internal Combustion Engines to trainees of all levels from the MoD, Industry, and Foreign and Commonwealth Armed Forces. The scope of this training includes Diesel Internal Combustion Engine Construction, Operation, Maintenance, Diagnosis and Repair Techniques. Instructors are also required to complete formal assessment and evaluation of students.

Regular duties include the maintenance and updating of existing training course documentation to reflect changes to equipment and technology, and assisting with the development of new courses, including the documentation, media, and methods.

This post includes a secondary role delivering instructors may be called upon to deliver training of other Marine Engineering Subjects, where the incumbent is suitably qualified and experienced. Minor maintenance of training equipment/training aids is also required as appropriate.

Please note that DSMARE is due to transfer to Navy Command within the period Nov 2024 to Nov 2025. This post may therefore be in scope for potential outsource under Project Selborne during this period.

This exciting new role of Internal Communications Specialist will design and deliver dynamic and compelling communications using digital and traditional communication channels which inform, engage and connect our employees.

Working for our Head of Internal Communications, responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with the Marketing team to align plans and messages whilst building employee advocacy for Marshall
• Creating and maintaining the plans for delivery of communications, engagement activities and events
• Maintaining and updating our internal Intranet 'Beam' with newsletters, publications, events and videos, liaising with department stakeholders to ensure information us up to date and relevant
• Establishing strong working relationships with the stakeholders across various business units, proactively seeking their input and ensuring that communication and engagement efforts align with their strategic goals
• Supporting with employee listening groups, utilising feedback to make continuous improvements
• Working with various stakeholders across the business (including HR, Facilities, IT) to ensure departmental messages are curated in an easy and digestible way
• Playing an active role in the design and planning of large business events
• Managing the Internal Communications inbox and responding to ad hoc requests from all business units
