Your new role
You will be joining the FM team, reporting directly to the company head of property. Your key responsibilities will involve managing the TFM of purpose built student accomodation across a UK portfolio. You will directly manage the budgets for PPM and lifecycle works for your designated properties. You will also be directly responsible for ensuring all properties meet the statutory H&S and compliance requirements in line with the latest building regulations for residential properties. - Directly control the budgets for PPM, reactive and lifecycle works and make accurate forecasts
- Oversee all H&S and compliance

Job Description

• Senior Facilities Manager duties and responsibilities include planning and executing strategies for completing property management, periodic preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and maintenance projects within KPI and in a timely manner.
• Supervising all property management, soft services, M&E services (include M&E minor project work), leading a team and vendor groups to manage and support the tactical delivery and be the on-site key point of contact for the key stakeholders.

Requirement:

He/She must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience at his/her equivalent level as an SFM/FM, or Tier 2 Certified Facilities Management Expert (CFME) accreditation by Singapore International Facility Management Association (SIFMA) accreditation scheme, and proven management background.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory experience in facilities management, property management, facilities engineering, or related field.
• Strong budget management and data analysis skills
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), Facilities Management, Diploma Holder in Building Services or its equivalent
• Possess interpersonal and strong ability to manage Hard FM Services.

Monitor, scrutinise and project manage the development, content and implementation of a range policies and procedures within areas of compliance, Facilities Strategic Delivery plan, health and safety, standards and performance relevant to, and for, the Facilities Directorate. Ensure that the means of Facilities compliance delivery is regularly reviewed and develop appropriate recommendations on appropriate strategies to deliver optimum performance. Be required to analyse, interpret, and resolve highly complex statistical and information problems in relation to compliance facets across all Facilities services. These may require innovative and new ways of delivering services which may conflict with traditional thinking and opinions. About the Position

The Facilities Manager will be responsible to oversee all building-related activities including to preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning. The post holder will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Key Responsibilities  

• Knowledge of United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) principles surrounding facilities is a must. 

• Responsible for setting UNGC sustainability goals and implementing them and reporting in compliance to UNGC rules and regulations. 
• Knowledge of carbon emissions control, accounting and reporting is a must. 
• Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed. 
• Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors. 
• Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals. 
• Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders. 
• Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff. 
• Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments. 
• Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards. 
• Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations. 
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs. 
• Supervise all facilities related staff (cleaners, gardeners, security guards etc.) and external contractors. 
• Control activities like waste disposal, building security etc.

• Have knowledge of hosting meetings and events supporting DG’s office. 

The successful candidate will have:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or a relevant field. 
• Knowledgeable in Malaysian OSH Management System, the standards, and specifications.   
• Certificate in NIOSH will be an added advantage. 
• Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position. 
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills. 
• Good analytical/critical thinking. 

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Able to suggest and recommend positive solutions when needed to resolve issues on repair and maintenance.

• Enhance the Physical Security and Facilities presence in the APAC region, as well as at the local level and establish strong working relationships and trust with key leaders and teams in the region.
