It holds regulatory franchise rights on behalf of the Council for the operation of market type events throughout the district and presently operates seven retail venues in various locations at Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Elland, Todmorden and Brighouse over a seven day week period.


We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our Market Service to undertake the role of Market Attendant who will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Market Manager in the daily operation of the Councils Markets.

Responsibilities will include; Supervision of staff, monitoring and maintaining of standards, general cleansing duties, securing of premises and regulation of entry and trading, site supervision in accordance with Health and Safety requirements, minor maintenance and the erection and dismantling of market stalls.

The successful applicant will be required to liaise with Traders in relation to service provision and all related matters ensuring Calderdale’s Markets are maintained in a safe, secure and hygienic condition to the benefit of all stakeholders and in accordance with all legislative requirements.

Excellent customer service standards are required along with the understanding of who the key stakeholders are, ensuring that effective engagement takes place in delivering a first class service.

Health and Safety is also a service priority and you will be required to proactively encourage a positive health and safety working environment ensuring that staff and stakeholders work safely at all times.

The post holder will need:
• Demonstrable experience of working within a customer focused role.
• General knowledge relating to cleaning processes and the use of industrial cleaning equipment.

Creative Field Marketing is on the lookout for Casual Market Researchers for 6 week project - 38 hours per week.

As a Market Researcher you will be at the forefront of our data collection process. The project measures the environmental sustainability of food delivery packaging and is being conducted with the assistance of The University of Technology Sydney.

Your role will be to work collaboratively with the state team leaders to assess and accurately record sample materials provided. An understanding of sustainable food packaging is not required, as full training will be provided. This is a short term contract offering 38 hours per week for 6-7 weeks. This research project runs from Mid April to late May with an extension possible, and interstate travel required in late May.

This team supports the adult social care sector with recruitment and retention, workforce development, as well as information, advice and guidance. • Salary Package: Basic Salary up to $3,600 + Transport Allowance + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct door-to-door interviews to gather market research data.
• Represent the company professionally to the public and articulate the purpose of the research clearly and concisely.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of interviews and data collected.
• Meet or exceed set targets for number of interviews conducted and information gathered.
• Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the data collected.
• Persuade respondents to participate in interviews in a non-intrusive and ethical manner.
• Provide feedback to the research team on potential improvements to interview scripts and procedures.
• Coordinate daily travel routes to maximize efficiency and coverage of designated areas.
• Uphold company policies and standards during all interactions.
• Stay informed on market research techniques and industry trends.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in sales or equivalent.
• Proven experience in sales, customer service, or a related field where direct interaction with the public is key.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with data collection and entry; experience with research methods is a plus.
