Working for us at West Sussex County Council is all about making a positive difference to the people of West Sussex. This is a great opportunity for you to join us as an Assistant Care Manager. You will act alongside our social work Team and health care colleagues responsible for delivering a statutory social work service to adults in the locality of West Sussex.
About The Job
Salary: £27,334 to £29,777 per annum
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Bognor
✅Do you have experience within the Social Work sector?
✅Are you passionate about providing quality care to the community?
✅Do you want to #BeTheDifference?
We are looking for a self-motivated, collaborative new assistant care manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant difference to our service users lives, although challenging the rewards by far outweigh those challenges as you will always strive for a positive outcome. No two days will look the same; you'll be working in at various locations across the county with numerous colleagues and patients from all walks of life. You will need to take an organised approach whilst exercising your expertise with knowledge of policies and legislations to support those in need.
But don't just take our word for it hear from some of the current Chichester & Bognor Assistant Care Managers:
"Our team is small but tight knit with people from different backgrounds so everyone brings something different and there's always someone you can ask when you need some help. I am neuro divergent and it's one of the first jobs I've been allowed to be who I am. Colleagues accept you for who you are and special adaptions in the workplace were normalised from the start, and after my whole life of having to make do and work arounds it is amazing.
The best part of my job is the amazing people I meet, the different situations they are in and how I can help. We visit people when they are at their most desperate and they don't know where to turn, it's a joy to support, signpost and point them in the right direction and it's up to them to take the next steps with a little encouragement. If you are thinking about a career in social work this role will give you a big insight, and the best advice I can give is to come with a practical can do attitude and a willingness to learn" Debbie
"I have been working as an ACM for little under 3 months. The role is very flexible with the opportunity to create your own dairy. There is a lot of joy in the role, being able to support individuals in getting the care they need is very rewarding. If work becomes overwhelming, there is an approachable and welcoming team right beside you. My role consists of visits in the community and writing assessments, some of which are similar to care plans. Some days we talk to individuals who would like some advice before an assessment". Monika
