Who You Are
You have minimum of an undergraduate degree in business or equivalent.
You have industry experience. 3-5 years industry-related experience and understanding of the Direct Financial Services business lines, products and services (in particular Simplii Financial). General knowledge of the operational, regulatory, and reputation risks associated with Direct Financial Services businesses and a comprehension of the policies, standards, processes and controls that need to be in place to mitigate these risks.
You have strong understanding and application of operational risks, controls and governance functions. High degree of computer literacy and familiarity with business tools, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio.

What You’ll Be Doing
Remote Banking & Shared Services provides Enterprise services and solutions that drive banking experiences for CIBC's personal and small business banking clients by putting our clients at the center of all that we do. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will manage large cross-portfolio programs and projects from end-to-end. You’ll lead teams of internal & external stakeholders and technology partners to ensure projects of all sizes are completed in line with the team’s budget and timeline.

How You’ll Succeed

Manage project financials of $1MM-$5MM. Create resource plans consisting of BAs, Solution Designers, Development, QA and Operations to support project delivery and execution.
Issue/Risk Management - Proactively manage issues that will take projects off schedule by identifying solution and getting stakeholder buy-in. Manage key risks and dependencies by implementing mitigation strategies; escalate issues and risks as appropriate.
Stakeholder Management – Communicate project status and progress to help internal and external partners make informed decisions. Comfortable to communicate in governance meetings to a broad set of audience including senior management and executive leaders (VP and above).
Collaboration – Lead teams of internal & external stakeholders and technology partners in early seed phase to perform analysis and research to determine viability of the initiative before completing a full business case. Define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities and ensuring all project team members are working towards established milestones.
Technical Acumen – Familiarity with the complexity of Banking IT ecosystems and architecture. A strong curiosity and desire to learn about new technology in the financial and retail banking space.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience through 6-8+ years progressive experience in Technical Project Management with Enterprise/System Integration Experience. Background in Application Development, ideally within the banking industry. You have experience managing complex technical projects in a matrix environment and completed projects through full Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), Requirements and Design, Quality Assurance and Implementation and Release Management.
You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or a related field of study. PMP Certification is a nice-to-have.

The role of this position plans, organizes, and administers Morale, Well-being and Recreation (MWR) activities and programs that promote the physical, creative and social development of its participants. Types of functions that support the MWR activities: including, but not limited to, temporary guest housing, movie theatre, equipment rental locker, swimming pool, base fields, picnic areas, child development center, community center, food services operations and other programs and activities.

Typical work assignments include:
- Providing ongoing supervision to staff.
- Conducting meetings with activity managers to make assignments and to review and discuss operations, special projects, long and short range plans, and other management considerations.

To support a team who deliver change projects and programmes through co-ordination of change programmes and projects, ensuring that deadlines are met and products are delivered to a high quality within time scales.
Within this work, the post holder will have responsibility to identify, assess, recommend and implement organisational change and financial investment, new technologies, business process changes and solutions which support the ability to accomplish the objectives linked to the above change initiatives. To review and respond to the designated strategic objectives of the project, understanding the impact on the organisation, present capabilities and barriers to the achievement of objectives.
To work with business teams to gather requirements, create specifications and develop new solutions or enhance existing applications within scope of the project.
To undertake investigative work to confirm the availability of existing technology or the potential for innovation in order to achieve stated project objectives or improvement to existing business processes. To include liaison with suppliers to find the best solution in order to fit project and business requirements.
To identify required changes or opportunities for improvement of existing business processes, gathering relevant performance or other information to evidence and provide rationale for options presented.
To combine technological and business change into overall workable solutions and communicate and justify options to a project board or senior audience, either verbally or via preparation of business case or other project documentation.
To identify and monitor benefits, disadvantages, risks, costs and timescales associated with the work package or project and seek strategies to manage these during implementation. Where necessary, recommend particular technology solutions or suppliers to the project.
To plan, execute and manage engagement with internal and external stakeholders as part of the work package including liaison with prospective suppliers.
