Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to Havant Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, Gosport Borough
Council, Fareham Borough Council and Chichester District Council that reduces the risks to people, the developed and natural
environment from flooding and coastal erosion. The area includes three major harbours of significant environmental importance and
over 246km of diverse coastline.
You will support the Engineering Team on a wide variety of asset maintenance projects and in the delivery of capital works
projects.
You will support inspections and surveying work on the coast, including the opportunity to be trained to use the latest UAV
technology. You will assist the team in the planning and reporting of scheduled topographic surveys and inputting into maintenance
design recommendations. Periodically, you will supervise beach management operations, including site surveys to record beach
levels and map out changes to inform our works.
For both maintenance and capital works projects, you will provide project management support covering design, procurement, and
site supervision, considering the environment, health and safety and the local community. Depending on your experience, you will
have the opportunity to lead on these work packages.
Suitable applicants will require a HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction in the Built Environment or related discipline. You
will be enthusiastic, enjoy working outdoors, be environmentally aware and have confidence in your ability to find logical
solutions to problems. Experience of surveying, using civil engineering technical standards, an awareness of health and safety
guidance and familiarity with computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel, CAD and GIS would be an advantage.
This role will require frequent outdoor working, site work and attendance at our offices. You will need to be able to drive.
