Essential Job Functions

1. Strategy and Planning

• Research and stay informed of potential information security threats, industry trends, emerging technologies, and response alternatives.

• Understand processes and ensure appropriate levels of access are applied throughout the information and identity lifecycles.
• Participate in planning, selection, and implementation of new systems and technology solutions.
• Participate in system deployment or acquisition projects to assess security requirements and controls to ensure that security controls are implemented as planned.

3. Operational Management

• Assist with maintaining health system compliance with security control frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI and other law/regulations.
• Engage in regular assessment of the current IT security environment to identify weaknesses.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned systems and backup on assigned systems.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the security domain and provide technical direction to lead appropriate work on security related projects.
• Participate in the assessment of potential threats and risks to systems and management of those risks.
• Weigh business needs against security concerns to articulate issues and recommend options.
• Participate in the design, development, and delivery of security training programs.
• Proficient in following playbooks and procedures for responding to and reporting on Security Incidents.

The Cybersecurity team delivers platforms, architecture, and tooling to help Cybersecurity teams make faster, more informed decisions as we work to secure State Street’s digital footprint. As a Staff Security Engineer – Identity Threats & IAM Defense on the Security Architecture Governance Engineering (SAGE) team, you will focus on protecting user identities and identity-based systems from cyber threats using a combination of security tools, processes, and best practices to effectively prepare for as well as detect and respond to identity-related threats.

· Develop and drive the execution of identity threat research and proactive defence, employing architectural understanding, analytic skills, and engineering tools to secure the identity surface.

We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer (SME). This role is responsible for protecting the customer’s information systems and networks from potential cyber-attacks. The Cyber Security Engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology and utilization of Firewalls (Security Groups), VPNs, Data Loss Prevention (DPS), IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, Security tools, and Security Audits. Candidates will work directly with Team leads, developers and operations personnel throughout a DevSecOps life cycle both on policy and technical implementation of technologies.  This role is a hybrid role with a combination of some onsite and remote.

Primary Responsibilities:
