The post holder will act as lead for designated speciality abstracting and analysing highly complex clinical information from a patient’s health record, in order to assign classification codes and to plan and organise workloads within the team.

The Health Information Specialist – Incomplete Records manages patient information and is responsible for the review and analysis of medical records according to the standards of TJC, Arkansas State Health and UAMS guidelines and assigns deficiencies.

Direct communication with the UAMS College of Medicine physicians, department chairs, residency coordinators and Service Line Leadership; provides training for new physicians in the use of multiple electronic medical record systems and the hospital dictation system.

Manages the Physician OR scheduling hold program; maintains and reviews the Medical Records Clearance work queue on a daily basis, communicates outstanding Epic In Basket folders/messages to providers and managers to prevent incomplete charts/deficiencies and clear for departure from UAMS; assists providers via phone and in person with any Epic In Basket issues. Builds review queues for outside and internal audits in OneContent and Epic Release to Inspector.

Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. The SA leverages that expertise to support and conduct high level analysis, generate insights, influence policy and to support program design and execution. The SA is responsible for supporting (on behalf of the Ministry of Health) a consortium to pilot primary health care transformation agenda in Indonesia. The SA is expected to contribute to the development and active dissemination of high-quality technical knowledge products.

The SA works as a key member of the Strategic Purchasing for Primary Health Care (SP4PHC) project, which is supported by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that provides technical assistance to countries to improve how funds are allocated to healthcare providers to achieve the goal of universal health coverage.

In Indonesia, SP4PHC is working with Ministry of Health (MOH) since the late 2022 on supporting the MOH’s Health Transformation agenda, and specifically focusing on reforms around improving PHC, health financing, and digital health across Indonesia. SP4PHC Indonesia is implementing three strategies, which aim to improve how JKN purchases PHC services, optimize flow of funds via districts to PHC providers, and foster integration of telemedicine into purchasing arrangements for PHC services.

To support these strategies, several activities related to the health system, financing, and policy will be carried out. The SA will be a core technical member of the SP4PHC Indonesia team and will report to SP4PHC Project Director. This is a full-time position based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Program design and implementation

• Support ministries of health and finance on development of national health financing strategies, budget planning, preparation and execution, and budget advocacy.

• Support sub-national actors in decentralized settings by strengthening capacity to respond to increased autonomy for planning, budgeting and public financial management.

• Support the design and implementation of health financing mechanisms such as health insurance and performance-based financing.

• Support team to generate targeted evidence and provide technical support to MOH and BPJS-K on improving JKN and work with these partners to incorporate these findings into policy development and roll-out

• Lead analyses on health expenditure, including out-of-pocket spending, financial forecasting, benefit incidence analysis, resource tracking and cost-effectiveness.

HIM Coder II is responsible for coding a variety of services. Those services can include hospital outpatient, surgical services, hospital and clinic professional services as well as procedures and any ancillary services. The coder will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD- 10 codes, CPT and HCPCS codes in accordance with Monument Health guidelines, Official coding guidelines and payor standards.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Review and abstract information in the medical record to accurately code for that episode of care.
• Code hospital and professional services by accurately assigning ICD-10, CPT and HCPSCS codes for appropriate billing.
• Apply knowledge of medical science, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and the official coding guidelines to select the correct codes.
• Maintain an understanding and apply knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives (NCCI), Local and National Coverage Determinations (LCD, NCD’s), Medically unlikely edits (MUE’s) and Medicare guidelines.
• Participate in coding education and training.
• Provide ongoing feedback to physicians and staff regarding coding guidelines and requirements.
• Query providers for missing documentation.
• Resolve payor edits and denials and respond to other teams including, compliance, revenue integrity and billing.
• Navigate and utilize encoder, grouper software and other coding resources.
• Maintain coding productivity and accuracy standards.
• Assist with patient audits. Obtains necessary information.
• All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies

Preferred:
Experience - 1+ years of Coding Experience
Certifications - Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); Certified Professional Coder - Apprentice (CPC-A) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)

Job Overview
Review, assess and process Safety data and information, across service lines, received from various sources and distribute reports/data onwards to both internal and external third parties following applicable regulations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal guidelines under guidance and support of senior operation team members.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field and up to 3 years of relevant experience, inclusive of up to 1 year of Pharmacovigilance experience.

Job Summary: The Health Information Technician is responsible for a variety of health information/medical records processes that must be completed in compliance with SFHS Policies/Procedures/Agreements, Federal, State, TJC, and other related Regulatory agencies.
