Job Description

• Have a good knowledge of local area and surrounding facilities
• Demonstrate and promote Quality Awareness amongst Front Office team
• Responds to changes in the Front Office function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel
• Coordinates and “rooms not ready” with the Front Office during periods of heavy occupancy
• Keep all departments informed about room statuses, ensure reservations are in system
• Assisting as hotel phone operator
• Ensure the smooth operation of the housekeeping department
• Maintains strong, professional relationship with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organisations
• To understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to computer resources, fire, hygiene, health and safety
• Prepare and ensure timely delivery of daily reports to other departments executive office

GENERAL MISSION

• To assist the Director of Finance and oversee daily accounting operations in the hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS

• To supervise daily accounting operations.
• To perform bank reconciliation and month-end reconciliation of all general ledger balances
• To prepare the trial balance and financial reports.
• To review and analyse all accounts before issuing final monthly financial statements.
• To supervise and control subordinates to discharge their duties in an effective and efficient manner.
• To ensure teamwork and efficient operation of the department through team spirit development.
• To supervise daily accounting operations.
• To prepare time tables for completing monthly reports and work schedules.
• To be responsible for preparation of the various monthly reports as required by Management.
• To perform a financial analysis on the monthly statements and report the results to the Director of Finance.
• To assist the Director of Finance in checking and investigating whether purchase requisitions fall in capital expenditure or expense budgets.
• To ensure sub-ledgers and supporting evidence are in order and properly maintained to support the General Ledger.
• To safeguard all contracts and agreements and to supervise the necessary accounting procedures and the preparation of accounting ledgers and summaries.

Knowledge and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance

· Additional certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an advantage

· Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting position

. Preferably with 4 years hotel experience

· High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of business acumen

· Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language

· Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant financial and accounting reporting systems

· Fully conversant in accounting principles and financial regulation standards
