Key Responsibilities:

• Overall responsible for all financial reporting, management accounting and timely submission of reports which comply to Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) for consolidation as well as provide financial analysis for reporting to Board of Directors.

The Financial Controller functions as the property’s Financial Business Leader. Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union is currently recruiting candidates for our Accounting College Internship program located at our Live Oak Administrative Service Center.  The intern selected for this position will work with the Accounting Operations, Financial Reporting, and Financial Analyst teams to prepare and post journal entries according to GAAP, reconcile general ledger accounts, perform variance analysis, tie out financial statements, and assist in the preparation and organization of documentation for the annual financial statement audit.

The Staff Counsel II drafts, reviews and files legal pleadings.  This person also manages and resolves collection litigation, provides legal support for the collections litigation business unit, and interacts with outside counsel as necessary.  This person provides legal advice in connection with the company's business operations and supports corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection and related activities.  The Staff Counsel II may also supervise non-legal personnel within the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, review, direct and resolve collection litigation matters cost-effectively by working with business clients and legal support staff.
• Maintain and enhance company reputation with courts, venders, outside counsel, and consumers. Limit company exposure through effective advocacy on behalf of the Company in hearings, trials, and mediations. Negotiate with opposing counsel, conduct discovery and respond to discovery and prepare and attend hearings and trials.
• Represent client in highly contested cases, counterclaims, appeals and cross claims.
• Ensure adherence to Consumer Bill of Rights by enforcing relevant company policies. Determine appropriate settlements with consumers experiencing temporary or permanent hardships and communicate with consumer and counsel to encourage financial recover.
• Assist with special projects.
• Provide legal advice to company to support compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:  Master's or Advanced                          

FIELD OF STUDY:  JD degree from an accredited law school

EXPERIENCE:  3+ years legal work experience.

CERTIFICATION(S):  Juris Doctorate

MUST BE LICENSED IN MA

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

• Strong execution skills; highly accurate in both written and verbal communication
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to make sound judgment and exercise discretion on legal matters
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail
• Strong business acumen

Starting Compensation

Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $20.48 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)

About the Job

We are looking for independent but collaborative multi-tasker to join our Accounting Team as an Accounting Clerk  

• Enter/review consumer refund information 
• Process daily settlement runs
• Update daily check registers
• Process check runs, print and mail checks  
• Process incoming/outgoing mail – including sorting, scanning, copying, and accurately distributing to appropriate departments and team members
• Monitor department email in boxes and respond or distribute to appropriate team members
• Print and mail unclaimed property due diligence letters
• Process stop payments requests for checks

 

Required

• High School Diploma
• 1 - 2 years’ professional experience
• 10 Key by touch
• Ability to quickly learn and utilize accounting and legal software
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced work environment
• Good communication skills
   

Preferred

• Skills working on Multiple software
• Proficiency with MS Office (particularly Excel)
