As a Trade Research Specialist, GS-0301-11/12, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
- Develops and prepares a variety of material, using office automation/computer equipment, such as executive correspondence, messages (both classified and unclassified), memoranda, etc., from hand written drafts, computer drafts, or verbal instructions.
- Maintains automated files and records to include time and attendance records.
- Maintains the Director's calendar, establishing appointments at own discretion.
- Makes arrangements for meetings, including places, people, and time involved; informs participants of agenda topics and provides background information.
- Makes travel arrangements that include air, rental car, and lodging, based on stated desires and in accordance with appropriate travel regulations. Reviews authorizations and vouchers for accuracy.
- Develops, directs, and executes administrative operating procedures with the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for the office management programs ensuring office policies and procedures used for administrative activities of the office are current, effective, and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Reviews outgoing correspondence, studies, plans, and reports prepared for signature with responsibility for verifying the accuracy of referenced citations, ensuring the technical content matches the writer's intent, and verifying that questions specifically asked in the correspondence have been answered.
- Develops visual materials including charts, graphs, and tables to accompany written and oral presentations.
