Health & Wellbeing Officer
We are looking for a specialist individual to lead on the provision of First Aid and medical assistance to students and staff throughout the Academy, and lead on the managing of medicines.

You will play a key role in the ongoing health and welfare of students and staff at the Academy and produce individual Healthcare plans, PEEPS, and Risk Assessments for N Code Children, with support from the inclusion team for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Examples of some of the main duties and responsibilities:

• Attend to the medical needs of students and staff, providing first aid and signposting to other medical providers where necessary
• Collect medication from students for safe storage and administration
• Liaise with School Health to administer regular programmes of medical, dental, optical and auditory testing and immunisation as required
• Assist with the provision of Personal, Health and Social Education (PSHE) by promoting and taking part in health initiatives across school with groups of students
• Keep stock of equipment, order equipment, maintain accurate records including accident reports and RIDDOR forms

Your duties will include:Conducting thorough mental health assessments of inmates, identifying their mental health needs and formulating appropriate care plans.Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks to individuals and others, including self-harm, suicide, or harm to others, and implementing appropriate risk management strategies.Administering and monitoring prescribed medications.Providing immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, such as self-harm or acute mental health episodes.

Your new role

• The post will be to provide a robust risk assessment, care plan and safety plan within the Emergency Department within our acute services, for Children and Young people who have attended following an incident of self harm, or who are presenting with suicidal ideation/in crisis.
• The practitioner will assess and feedback to the community teams to ensure that each young person is receiving the ongoing treatment required.
• To ensure that all CYP are supported or signposted on discharge and receive a 7 day follow up appointment
• To ensure that all documentation following the assessment is clear and accurate.
• To ensure that any young people who are deemed to need inpatient care are identified and the process is followed.
• To work closely with the Rapid Assessment and Intensive Support Team to ensure that all CYP are provided with support.
