Designates and maintains current maintenance priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations), and unit supported. Using the current automation support system, authorizes the acceptance of equipment for repair; monitors work priorities, current status, and completion of work orders; requisitions and provides status of repair parts; and assures the effective utilization of maintenance personnel. Provides both standard and ad hoc reports on the status of work orders to the supervisor and/or units. Assists supervisory personnel regarding readiness, CL IX funding, production problems and work planning. Assists in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production or priority requirements.
Analyzes repair methods and develops control procedures and policies to assure accomplishment of programs to meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Ensures that this is performed in the most effective and efficient manner possible with good quality control and quality assurance procedures in place. Coordinates with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders. Coordinates with logistical personnel, equipment specialists, higher ranked management officials, item managers at depots concerning critical shortages of repair parts required to support the maintenance repair program.
Provides technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller. (3) Designates and maintains current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations) and unit supported. Authorizes the acceptance of equipment for repair; monitors work priorities, status, and completion of work orders and requisitions; and provides status of repair parts. Assists supervisory personnel regarding readiness, Class 9 (CL IX) funding, production problems and work planning. Assists in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production or priority requirements.
(4) Provides assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports and system management. Based on guidance received from the supervisor or higher graded production controller, prioritizes resources to ensure the highest level of readiness in support of training and mobilization requirements of supported units. Works with other sections within the organization to ensure equipment readiness reports are correct and submitted in time to meet Department of the Army (DA) reporting suspense.
(5) Analyzes repair methods and recommends control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Coordinates with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders.
(6) In the absence of the higher graded production controller, ensures that unit CL IX accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness; and performs demand analysis on CL IX expenses to determine proper PLL stockage to sustain facility mission requirements.
(7) May provide day-to-day technical guidance to lower-graded personnel assisting in the maintenance production or maintenance management processes. Ensures necessary maintenance records are maintained and required reports are submitted to units and higher headquarters' in a timely manner.

-- Analyzes allocated Flying Hour Program (FHP). Develops plans to optimize execution of flying hours with available resources to satisfy operational and training requirements of the AASF and supported units. Considers Additional Flight Training Periods (AFTP), Multiple and Unit Training Assemblies, Annual Training periods, Mobilization Planning and Training Exercises, and State Emergency Operations in the distribution of aircraft and aircraft hours.
-- Analyzes supported Aviation units' logistics capabilities and training requirements. Develops plans to improve technical proficiency of unit personnel and includes them in the AASF logistics efforts.
-- Develops maintenance plans to maximize AASF services to maintain aircraft readiness. Projects short and long term maintenance requirements. Identifies full-time support and unit personnel capacities and capabilities, annual training schedules, tool and diagnostic test equipment requirements, repair parts, and facilities needed to satisfy operational and training flight requirements.Schedules:

Programs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements, manpower capabilities and capacities, facilities, repair parts, AASF and Unit operations to meet short and long-term maintenance workloads. -- Uses Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A) to facilitate management of AASF logistics operations. Monitors work order status and repair parts requisitions. Compiles data and analyzes information used in aircraft and logistical reports. Processes both formatted and ad hoc ULLS-A reports for supervisor and/or supported units.
-- Serves as contact point between the Logistics Manager/Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot and work centers. Provides analytical information for continuous management reviews of aircraft readiness and workload capabilities and capacities. Establishes procedures to identify repeat aircraft discrepancies and trends. Monitors trends and provides planning factors for aircraft availability and maintenance schedule progress. Maintains maintenance priorities by equipment type and unit supported. Reports deviations from plans and consequences of deviations on work schedules. Assists in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production requirements. Makes recommendations for adjustments to repair priorities necessitated by changes in operational conditions or unscheduled maintenance-supply requirements.
