Your new role

Calculating trustees' liabilities to IHT, CGT and Income Tax, and making use of annual exemptions, along with dealing with payments and distributions from trusts, both capital and discretionary income distributions. You will manage your own caseload, client relationships and engage with all those that may be involved, proactively managing your clients to ensure any tax-planning and/or succession planning issues are considered, along with preparing/attending trustee's meetings. You will activate investment reviews, monitor the performance of investments, prepare/review investment policy statements, and manage relationships to deal with beneficiaries, drafting deeds, and associated policies. You will review/interpret trust deeds and related documentation, and delegate/supervise the work of more junior members of the team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Trust & Tax Manager role, you will need experience within a similar position, strong understanding of trust accounts, taxation of trusts, income tax, and ideally have experience with computerised accounts along with Trust/Tax software. You will be a proactive team player, who is also highly self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. Possess excellent team working skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues of all levels, including mentoring and guiding less experienced members of the team as required, along with being able to build rapport with clients to develop effective working relationships. You will have a good legal and commercial understanding of clients' needs, take a hands-on working approach, with strong problem-solving skills. Experience within the Legal sector and a STEP qualification would be advantageous but not essential.

Experience of team leading would be beneficial. You will have a good understanding of P&C business and all the London market processes or have a willingness to learn fast. Ideally, you will be Cert CII qualified or progression towards. You will be confident obtaining information from clients and Underwriters via telephone & e-mail and will have the ability to build good relationships with both Clients and Underwriters/Insurers. You will have communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as good organisational ability. It is essential that you have experience working within a London market Brokers, ideally within Wholesale or in Retail, but would cross train into Wholesale, and knowledge of preparing MRC slips and broker policies would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role within a practice accountancy firm and hold a professional qualification such as ICAS, ACCA or similar. Ideally, you will be familiar with software such as Sage, Xero and Quickbooks alongside all Microsoft packages and be an excellent communicator who is comfortable carrying out client-facing work. I am partnering with a leading frozen seafood business in the Northwest region who are looking to expand their operation across the UK, and they need a highly motivated sales expert to help them achieve their ambition of doubling their revenue. They have grown from strength to strength over the years, and they are now ready to take their business to the next level, but they need a dedicated sales expert who can help them achieve these goals. You will be reaching out to luxury restaurants, hotels, retailers, wholesalers and anyone in between to build genuine business relationships and increase sales. You will proactively seek out commercial opportunities and will pitch the company's high-quality frozen food products to secure orders. This is a commission only role, so the company is looking for a self-motivated, driven sales professional who is wanting to earn a great pay packet each month.

In return, you will be rewarded generously. Realistically, this role could see you earning £4-5K every month if you are hitting your sales targets, but there's no limit or cap on what you could earn! The more revenue you generate, the more you take home!

Please note that this position is being offered on a COMMISSION ONLY BASIS, however, the business is open to discussing a base salary + a lower commission split if this option is preferable for you.

The role is being offered on a remote basis, with the requirement to visit the head office in North Lancashire just 1 day per month. The role will require travel nationwide, so a full UK driving licence is required. To be considered for this position, you MUST HAVE prior experience and proven track record of sales within a frozen seafood, food wholesale or similar environment.
