Job Designation
The Engineer will join the wider organisation engineering team, focusing on aftermarket activity at Parker Meggitt Service & Support Singapore centre of excellence and regional partners. The role will report jointly into the Operations Lead (Continuous Improvement responsibility) and Engineering Lead (Capability Development responsibility).
Services and Support APAC is maturing through its strategic program to build regional MRO capability in order to fully support Parker Meggitt content on the regionally operated fleet of aircraft, both airframe and engine components. This includes the next generation of commercial aerospace aircraft.
The organisation is also relatively advanced in its adoption and daily execution of the Parker lean enterprise but has more to do in ensuring that processes and operating activity benefits from continuous improvement through a structured program of Kaizen and other lean manufacturing tools.
Job Core Responsibilities
· Will be responsible for leading plant-wide and department level performance improvement initiatives (integrated with Parker lean system) that positively impact cost, quality, safety, material flow, productivity and delivery metrics
· Will develop the company’s CI culture through targeted training, shop floor Kaizen program
· Plan, organize, and lead Parker Kaizen activities
· Provide CI support to shop floor associates / managers
· Design, develop, and implement improved work flows
· Train company associates in principles of Lean Manufacturing
· Identify and troubleshoot inefficient work processes
· Focus on new and existing capability set up for both legacy Meggitt products as well as localization of Parker products line to support APAC regional needs
Job Specifications
Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Experience: 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
Skills:
· Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
· Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
· Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
· Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
