What you will do

• Ensure that activities align with strategic goals of improving care and experience for patients. Provide oversight and management of accreditation and clinical operations.
• Ensure that initiatives for safety and patient experience are developed and effectiveness measured for desired outcomes.
• Advise and assist with analysis of patient satisfaction data to ensure quality services are delivered to our customers. Monitor and report out the patient satisfaction data monthly to Department heads, others as needed. Work with quality teams within the Health System to ensure the questions used in the survey are reflected correctly on the RHS Scorecard.
• Participate in short and long-term planning, including development and achievement of goals and objectives for each center in accordance with RMG goals and objectives.
• Responsible for leadership of the value analysis team (VAT) related to patient care supplies and equipment.
• Assure compliance with mandatory staff education in accordance with RMG standards (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, Blood borne Pathogens, DNV, and HIPAA).
• Coordinate, manage, and implement the student programs with affiliating schools/universities. Schedule fieldwork affiliations. Act as a liaison between student/clinical instructor/ACCE of school/RRI. Facilitate communication, monitor progress and provide feedback. Identify and assign appropriate clinical instructors for fieldwork affiliations. Assist in developing staff to assume student supervisory roles.
• Participate with the members of RMG/RHS leadership, governing boards, councils, and executive teams in order to assist or provide input and direction in the development of the Business Plans and Strategic initiatives, Goals and Objectives and Evaluation/Integration of Care and Services into and with related RHS Services.
• Demonstrate positive leadership skills through supportive behaviors that include developing/educating staff on policies/procedures/best practices/strategic goals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Boston Medical Center Health System is a ~$7B system whose mission is to provide Exceptional Care without Exception. The Health System includes a tertiary academic medical center a network of community health centers, a health plan and an affiliated accountable care organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

BMCHS and other healthcare partners are building a team that aims to reduce disparities in health outcomes contributing most to premature mortality and health inequities across our primary care population and members of the communities served by BMC and other healthcare partners. The Operations Director will work in partnership with the leadership of Population Health, the Health Equity Accelerator, and other key clinical and operational stakeholders across BMC and other healthcare partners to design and implement a community based program to reduce disparities. The vision of this team is to create a community-based model that provides enhanced supports to patients with diabetes and/or hypertension. The program will staff a team of clinical specialists in pharmacy, nutrition, social work, and nursing as well as community health workers, population health and outreach specialists that will care for patients in the community based program. In addition, the team will lead necessary data architecture work to implement innovations such as a patient registry tool and be responsible for research evaluation.

• Lead the design of the Community Health Equity team in partnership with a multidisciplinary group of leaders from Population Health, the Health Equity Accelerator, and other key clinical and operational stakeholders across BMC and its partners to design community health equity programs, identify performance opportunities, set measurable targets, and develop central and local support processes to drive equity improvement. Design activities will include workflows, staffing, and governance structure.
• Partner with Human Resources to source, interview, and select staff for the Community Health Equity team.
• Prepare, justify and present strategic plans, business cases and budgets; while measuring and reporting the impact of different strategies and programs.
• Work requires the analytical ability necessary to analyze operations, develop systems and programs to coordinate the efficient flow of patient visits, treatments and appointments, develop short- and long-term strategic to meet objectives, develop operating and capital budgets, evaluate productivity, and develop business plans.

• Once the team is operational, the Operations Director will continue to work as the administrative leader for the community health equity team to ensure clinical and operational outcomes are met in a productive and cost effective manner. The director will work with stakeholders to provide for the identification, analysis and development of operating policies, systems, programs and standards.
• Maintains clinic policy and procedure manual. Adheres to performance standards as outlined by the Joint Commission.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director is expected to plan, organize, and direct activities of the Operations Team in the Inpatient Pharmacy Department on the main campus and at BMC Brockton Behavioral Health Center. The Director works in close collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services and Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer to achieve departmental goals, programs, and initiatives. 

Specifically, the Director is responsible for supporting activities that will promote safe, effective, and efficient medication distribution services while maintaining and growing pharmacy services.

The Director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Uses evidence-based processes to ensure the highest level of quality, safety and service.  On an annual basis develops cost savings plans with leadership to minimize expenses and maintains best practices in supply chain management while ensuring maximal quality and safety of drug therapy.

Prioritize the improvement of pharmacy operations; the Director should focus on:

• Employee development and engagement
• Establishment of key performance indicators, maintain and/or exceed set target of drivers of success for the department
• Labor productivity through staffing and automation in collaboration with Director of Clinical Services
• Reducing costs (through inventory control, efficient fill strategies, effective staffing matrices, etc.)
• Improving quality (reduction of error rates through CQI programs, effective operational management and education)
• Reducing turnaround times (by introducing efficiencies, providing tools to managers to drive performance, and effectively managing day to day activities)

The Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the following duties and activities:

• RFI, assessment, and recommendation of pharmacy technology and automation
• Oversee Operations teams to ensure on-board training and assessment of team competencies; proper use, training, management and efficacy related to automation devices and departmental workflows.
• Operationalize drug shortage mitigation strategies and ensure timely communication is provided to all pharmacy staff
• Adherence to USP 797, 795, and 800 standards
• Oversee compliance with drug purchasing, invoice approval, and inventory management
• Controlled substance compliance, auditing and investigations
• New project planning & project management
• Investigate and respond appropriately to all complaints and take effective corrective action when necessary
• Participate in the following: Mandatory training requirements as per hospital policy; Continuing education/in-services to enhance knowledge and leadership skills; Staff meetings; Performance improvement initiatives; Orientation of new staff, students and/or volunteers; Share on-call responsibilities with other pharmacy leadership staff; Utilize hospital's values as the basis for decision making; Follow established hospital infection control and safety procedures.

EDUCATION:

The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations to manage Oncology programs which may consist of one or more studies. This position will be responsible for initiating and leading clinical programs, inclusive of studies, across all phases, including overseeing CROs and vendors and working cross-functionally on clinical operations strategy and related initiatives. The CNAIO is accountable for the clinical and administrative management of nursing practice within the assigned units/areas of responsibility at the VA Central California Care System (VACCHCS). She/he collaborates with the Deputy Associate Director Patient Care Services/Deputy Nurse Executive (DADPCS/DNE) and with the Associate Director Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive (ADPCS/NE) on professional nursing issues and serves as an administrative resource for patient care activities, personnel management, organizational issues, and policy interpretation. Serves as a liaison between the COS and clinical Service/Section Chiefs under their direct supervision and those functional areas under their oversight within the policies, directives, and guidelines of VHA. Establishes and maintains a collaborative climate among all clinical service lines that promotes optimum patient access, employee engagement, high productivity, best practices, and trust in VA care.

Participates in top level decision and policy level designs that impact all clinical service line through collaboration with the COS and other members of the senior leadership team. Duties Administrative:
