The Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC) is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the National University of Singapore (NUS), to spearhead and conduct research and development to address the challenges arising from climate change & extreme heat.

We are seeking a Software Research Engineer who will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and maintenance of the centre’s data lake. The data lake will not only serve as HRPC’s central archive of research data and findings but play an important role in the centres knowledge generation and hypothesis testing journey. The multidisciplinary team of researchers in health systems (health services and policy researchers, data scientists, social scientists, and others), and administrators working in CRiHSP will provide an exciting and dynamic place in which people of diverse backgrounds collaborate towards the common goal of achieving excellence in Health Systems Research. The team will further benefit from a significant expansion in related fields and collaborations with the Department of family Medicine at the National University Health System (NUHS), the new Centre for Sustainable Medicine (CoSM) and the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Sciences Interventions (BISI) at the School of Medicine and the Saw See Hock School of Public Health.

We are looking for a high calibre candidate with practical laboratory experience in a research environment who is motivated, has a proactive approach and solution orientated mindset, to carry out research. You will work closely with Technical Leads to deliver projects by providing experimental data, testing, and underpinning evidence to support existing effluent treatment plants, the decontamination and decommissioning of nuclear facilities and development of geodisposal options. You will be required to interact with a range of internal and external customers and collaborators, interpret research requirements, design and implement experimental and desk-based work and communicate results to stakeholders. This role will allow you to contribute to a wide range of nationally important decommissioning programmes as well as wider risk reduction activities both in the UK and internationally.

You will also have the opportunity to work on internally funded research in support of geodisposal, environmental radiochemistry, decontamination, and decommissioning. The Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI), Duke-NUS Medical School, is recruiting a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to lead state-of-the-art small animal imaging studies in Viral Infectious Disease. LTMI aims to develop local infrastructure and deep capabilities in the development of molecular imaging technologies for guiding the advancement and translation of new imaging biomarkers to guide novel therapeutics in viral infectious disease.

The successful candidate will lead pre-clinical imaging efforts to validate novel imaging probes that target potential biomarkers of viral infection and host response. He/She will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and communication of research. Candidates with strong records of scientific accomplishment in radiopharmaceutical sciences, immunology or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate/ Research Scientist to join the Antibody Engineering team. The job function will be to provide expertise in phage-display based approaches for antibody engineering and discovery. The successful candidate will provide important contributions to a fast-paced team with a cutting-edge technology platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute panning strategies using antibody phage display for antibody engineering and discovery
• Construction of antibody phage display libraries for the engineering of antibody attributes
• Develop and execute high-throughput assays for antibody screening and characterization utilizing ELISA and flow cytometry
• Plan and conduct the conversion of phage antibody fragments to recombinant antibodies using standard molecular biology techniques and CHO-based antibody expression
• Adapt new methods to existing procedures and modify current experiments through scientific knowledge and intuition
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all laboratory work and experiments in electronic files
• Contribute to the overall safety, operations and organization of the laboratory
• Train and mentor research associates within team and actively participate in team meetings and presentations as needed

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc/MSc (with 5+ years experience) OR PhD in Biology or a related field, with experience in a Molecular Biology or Immunology research laboratory
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in panning approaches using phage display
• Experienced in antibody-based binding assays (ELISA and flow cytometry)
• Strong experience in molecular biology technologies (cloning and sequencing)
• Fast learner with problem-solving skills, an ability to work independently and present results and thoughts in a clear and timely manner
• Disciplined and well-organized with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced with mammalian cell culture for antibody production including basic antibody purification
• Experience with antibody engineering and antibody affinity maturation
• Industry experience will be a plus

KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:

· Maintenance of Market Data Inventory System.

· Stakeholders and Vendor management.

· Sourcing and onboarding of new Market Data (reference data, market indexes)

· Market Data usage and contracts renewal review.

· Vendor contract negotiation (terms and commercials)

· Relationship management with vendors for contractual aspects and follow-up.

· Costs monitoring: expenses validation and contribution in budget preparation.

· Contribution on adhoc projects and improvement initiatives.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

· Degree in Finance, Account or Business -related disciplines.

· Experience in large financial services institutions especially Asset Management and Investment Services sector.

· A deep understanding of asset management business (usage of data, processes, systems, controls and deliverables).

· Demonstrated experience in Market Data and hands on experience on related internal processes.

· Knowledge of Market Data vendor services/ products and contractual aspects.

· Experience of Market Data Inventory Systems such as FITS, InfoMatch, Optimize Spend or MDM.

· Ability to deal with business stakeholders

· Data management experience and understanding of data management frameworks are strong added values.
