You will manage a roster of freelance writers and will be tasked with assigning and editing new evergreen content in our core parenting categories, as well as working on large-scale update projects that support our long-term growth.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of what makes high-quality, credible content for today’s families and has values deeply rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is a must.
About Your Contributions:
Ideate, assign, edit, optimize, and occasionally write new content according to our best practices for content quality, style, brand voice, and core values to meet monthly production and traffic goals.
Manage writer assignments, pitches, questions, and editorial feedback on a regular basis, ensuring that best practices and new content volume goals are met.
Conduct SEO-based keyword research and collaborate with growth team partners to make sure every piece of content is capturing reader intent and interest.
Help editors with recruiting and onboarding a diverse team of freelance writers, reporters, and expert sources.
Actively participate in day-to-day team meetings, trainings, and project priorities, sharing responsibilities, new ideas, and valuable feedback with team members.
Support large-scale editorial improvement projects and processes, including topic-level content audits, that enhance the quality of our library and user experience.
Support and contribute to processes for fact-checkers and Expert Review Board members to improve content quality.
Contribute to priority in-house content improvement projects including author bio reviews, taxonomy audits, frontlinking, and more as needed.
Collaborate regularly and align with the full Parents editorial team on cross-team projects, editorial packages, digital issues, as well as on and offsite opportunities that improve content quality.
Work with cross-functional teams to help drive SEO, visual assets, product, video, email, commerce, performance marketing, and social strategies forward.
About You:
2+ years of experience writing, editing, and publishing digital content, ideally with a focus on parenting, health, or lifestyle content
Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with the ability to talk through visual concepts with visual editors
Strong editorial skills, keen sense of how to develop content that serves a targeted reader intent, and ability to work with SEO data and insights to help drive editorial decisions
Proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal communication skills, cultural competence, and the ability to partner with others with empathy and shared motivation
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Passionate about all things today’s families care most about—with a strong desire to help answer their most pressing questions

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400 - $65,000The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. The applicable base salary range for this role is $95,000 - $147,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
