The team
ING CI is responsible for all mezzanine debt, equity and sustainable investments within ING. We are active across a broad range of sectors and geographies, and we invest in various stages, from early-stage to mature companies. We pride ourselves on our creative approach and our ability to deliver unique & tailored solutions to ING clients and prospects.
You will become part of a team with a strong ambition to grow: we aim to triple our Assets under Management in the coming years and transform ING CI into a true portfolio manager, i.e. a multi-strategy value investor with an operating model that allows for controlled scaling of the business.
The role
The Portfolio Management & Value Creation (PMVC) team will play a pivotal role in the success of our growth ambition. The PMVC team's main responsibilities are twofold:
Value Creation: Our profit is driven as much by the origination of new investments as it is by value creation in the companies we invested in. The PMVC team takes a leading role in institutionalizing and standardizing the value creation processes for our portfolio companies. The aim is to leverage existing value creation initiatives across the entire portfolio and initiate new value creation initiatives.
Portfolio Management & Risk Control: Provide the portfolio management function for all of CI’s investments and loans across its three origination business units: Equity Investments, Sustainable Investments & Mezzanine Debt as well as for ING Bank's book equity positions. The portfolio management function will provide granular and periodic monitoring and reporting on all positions in the CI and Bank Equity portfolio.
Your profile
We are looking for a Senior Vice-President / Director (at least 8 years of relevant work experience). The role requires extensive and demonstrable experience in and understanding of all instruments across the capital structure and across a broad range of industries. The ideal candidate has both an origination track-record in investing, as well as experience in risk management, finance & control. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a high degree of integrity and professionalism. The values and behaviors of the ING Orange Code are naturally close to you, and you are as much focused on your own success as on the success of the team you are a part of. A collaborative spirit should be your nature, but you should also not shy away from challenging conventions and ideas. You will be expected to stay abreast of market trends and regulatory changes, develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the overall ING CI team.
What we offer
Our team culture is characterized by ambition and a drive to perform, and in finding pleasure in what we do, together as a team and with respect for each individual.
