Each directorate has a nominated governance lead who is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the local clinical audit program and relevant NICE guidance for the area. This role will work closely with the governance leads and/or clinical teams to actively support and monitor the progress of audit programmes, attend any relevant meetings, or forums and provide opportunities for clinical audit training as required. The postholder will be required to support Trust high priority clinical audit work such as mandatory returns, national audit, audit, and improvement work linked to safety (audits related to Patient Safety Investigation (PSI) action plans and safety incidents, Trust wide governance audits). The postholder will be expected to work autonomously on audit projects and providing support and guidance for the review and implementation of relevant NICE guidance. The postholder will lead, support and manage the Clinical Audit team including involvement in annual appraisal processes.

The post-holder is responsible for delivering clinical leadership and supporting the operational management and development of the Occupational Health (OH) Service and in conjunction with the Managing Director and Clinical Lead and will be accountable for the development and implementation of strategic plans for the OH service to ensure services provided are progressive and responsive to internal and external demand, are focused, safe, efficient and effective.

The North West London Occupational Health Shared Service (NWL OH SS) is hosted by Central and North West London Foundation Trust (CNWL) and is made up of a team of experienced occupational health doctors and nurses, supported by administrators. The majority hold specialist qualifications and many have over 20 years’ experience in occupational health.

Working alongside the Senior Management Team, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the clinically coded data is representative of the activity undertaken by East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust. This will be achieved through planning and completing regular department wide and individual staff audits. Using their freedom to act, they will develop local clinical coding policies, reviewing pre-existing ones and ensuring the QRGs and other coding guidance as contained on the database is accurate, relevant and does not breach national clinical coding standards, rules and conventions. The Clinical Coding Audit and Training manager will also assist the Senior Managers of Clinical Coding in identifying departmental and individual specific training needs.

The post holder will be an Accredited Clinical Coder and they will be a holder of the NHS England Clinical Coding Auditor qualification as well as possessing experience of leading and managing a clinical coding department or service. Their knowledge base will include an in-depth understanding of Secondary Uses Services (SUS) and Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data and how this is used in external benchmarking to describe the depth of coding between organisations.

Position Requirements: 

• Experience working in direct/indirect sales and/or sales management role selling into clinical customers.
• Technical background in molecular biology or genomics esp. in oncology and genetics is required.
• Must be able to build relationships at a very high level within key accounts in a given territory
• Strong desire to develop optimal sales coverage model while establishing long-term relationships with Channel Partners and customer creatively.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills: 

• BA/BS or MS or equivalent degree in Life Sciences. MBA or PhD is a plus.

The successful candidate will assist the Consultant Surgeons in the provision of Surgical Services including:- Clinics The post holder will support new and follow-up clinics. Theatres The post holder will have the opportunity to undertake parallel and independent theatre lists. The post holder will have the opportunity to participate and be trained in all major head and neck oncological procedures appropriate to their level of training. The fellow will be expected to be involved in the training of higher surgical trainees, both in the outpatient setting and in theatre for procedures such as neck dissection, thyroidectomy and laryngectomy/laryngopharyngectomy. Academic/Research The incumbent is expected to play a contributory role in current departmental research, audit, and teaching as well as lead research projects under the supervision of Consultants. Specifically, the post holder will be required to take part in research activities related to recurrent head and neck cancer management. On-Call There may be on call expectation on this post. Training The postholder is expected to support and be involved with training the junior staff. Other Attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties the postholder undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues. The postholder undertakes exceptionally to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The postholder undertakes exceptionally to be available for such irregular commitments outside normally rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care. The post holder will be expected to provide prospective and cross cover for other members of the Team. The post holder will be expected to advise administrative, nursing and junior medical staff on list allocation, and vetting patients for outpatient clinics.

Assist Podiatry Clinical Manager with special projects, improving service delivery, as integral part of management team: Appraisal of staff Mentoring of new staff Keep departmental policies, protocols and guidelines in line with evidence based practice Chair specialist team meetings Be proactive in Trust/departmental audit/research projects/clinical trials Participate and contribute to Podiatry Management Team meetings Be aware of KPI and 18 Week RTT Requirements Autonomy To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised podiatric care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs at specialist (diabetes/wound care/educational) level, including: Patients with gait problems due to foot deformity and or joint malfunction Patients requiring local anaesthetic including local infiltration and ankle blocks Wound management/Tissue Viability Ulcers and infected wounds Vascular problems e.g. peripheral vascular disease Acute infections Chronic disease e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, chronic neuropathy, high-risk diabetic patients, immunologically compromised patients, those with neurological problems e.g. multiple sclerosis Terminally ill patients requiring a sympathetic approach Care will be provided in a range of primary and secondary care settings including: Community Clinics Health Centres Hospital Clinics (Community Hospitals and Acute Hospitals) GP Surgeries Patient Homes Residential Homes for the Elderly Specialist Clinics The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload, which will include providing specialist care for patients with diabetes, wound care and educational planning.
