StriveX is partnering with a banking client who is looking for an AVP hire to join their Internal Audit team. Reporting to the Team Head, this person will provide key support in executing the Audit Plan, tracking remediation, and facilitating complex coordination for the Singapore business.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct audit risk assessments and identify areas for improvement and review
• Provide post-review recommendation for projects within the Branch, ensuring best practices are integrated into controls and processes
• Track and validate remedial actions resulting from audit findings, ensuring timely resolution of issues
• Coordinate with external auditors, Head Office internal audit teams, and other regulatory parties in conducting smooth audit processes.
• Prepare comprehensive audit-related reports

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Audit function within Banking industry
• Prior experience in technology risk assessment and assurance
• Certifications such as CISA or equivalent is plus point
• Proficient in data analytics and Microsoft Office tools
• Sound working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, and best practices
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in a Big Four Audit firms would be beneficial

• Assisting the Chief Reviewer in preparing and compiling credit review and audit results
• Supporting senior managers and managers with planning and administrative assistance
• Supporting and collaborating within Internal Audit Department (Asia Oceania Office, Head Office and other regional offices around the world) on credit reviews and audits

Job Duties

• Able to conduct audits engagements in an independent and objective manner.
• Able to independently execute audit assignments, assess risks and controlls, identify control deficiencies with supporting facts/evidences.
• Able to draft audit issues / reports in a clear and professional manner, collaborate & communicate audit findings/results with departments to develop remediation plans and timelines.
• Perform follow-up on outstanding audit issues, verify rectification measures
• implemented, and report the audit resolution progress to Head of Internal Audit.
• Any other ad hoc jobs assigned by Head of Internal Audit.

Job Requirements

• Recognized degree or professional qualification in accountancy, banking & finance or business etc.
• At least 5 years of working experience in internal audit/other control functions in banking industry or other FIs, and familiar with main banking business activities and operations.
• Preferred with prior audit exposure in banking/financial services industry or with prior Big 4 audit firms experience.

This role is to support the IA team. You will analyse mass data and pinpoint trends, patterns, anomalies to improve effectiveness, identify areas of risk, etc. You will use visualisation dashboards to create charts and graphs in a meaningful and attractive way. You will use data analytics tools and techniques to come up with financial modelling, data mining and predictive analysis to assist the IA team members in identifying key risk areas. You will be involved in automating repetitive tasks and doing data sanitization. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure data accuracy and availability which is crucial for reliable audit testing.

skills and experience required

You should be Degree qualified in Accountancy from a reputable university and possess at least 5 years of working experience in Finance related work and have used DA in a finance team. The work experience involves using data analytics tools such as SQL and Python, data visualisation dashboards such as Power BI and Tableau. You have exposure to new technology and robotic tools such as RPA and NLP to automate manual work. Knowledge in Business Intelligence such as Galvanize software and analytics tools like ACL, Oracle Transaction Business Intelligence will be highly advantageous. You should have good communications skills and be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
