Role Purpose

We're now looking for an Industry Research Analyst, Semiconductor to join our team. As a researcher and part of the Components and Devices Omdia pillar, you will help to coordinate Omdia’s semiconductor forecasts by communicating and working with multiple internal teams and external partners.  In doing so, you will engage in primary and secondary research of semiconductor trends, interpret data, and analyze results using qualitative and modeling techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting semiconductor data from a range of systems and sources and inputting into systems such as Excel.
• Assist the semiconductor analyst teams on providing up to date semiconductor market activity.
• Assist the semiconductor analyst teams in using primary and secondary research to build a credible date base.
• Creating estimates where publicly available sources are not available.
• Ensuring consistency and alignment of semiconductor forecasts across multiple internal teams.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities 
• Assist in providing qualitative analysis where possible to support and justify data.
• Understand and communicate the key semiconductor market trends.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To support project deliverables and be responsible for their successful delivery in terms of research quality and timeliness. Deliver tasks in line with expected quality whilst meeting all Key Performance Indicators for Penang Team.

• Data assumptions – clear justification of data and logical thinking

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The position of Research Associate is one of high responsibility and accountability.

You will be involved in

• Primary and secondary research tasks as specified by individual deliverables
• Excel-based templates as specified by each deliverable
• Credible and consistent base data and market shares output
• Outputs that have gone through a thorough cleansing exercise to ensure high quality of delivery to internal stakeholders
• New research ideas/topics presented to the manager

Other key responsibilities include:

• Successful, on-time delivery of high-quality, highly relevant, and differentiated research projects that provide essential elements for syndicated research projects across sectors.
• Successful, on-time execution of research projects that are essential components of consulting engagements, delivered to client specifications and quality expectations.
• Scoping – responsible for scoping out each deliverable that you are supporting. Including updating relevant documentation and leading kick-off as well as subsequent calls.
• Primary research – assist in conducting interviews with key industry contacts across a spectrum of company types, creating a detailed log of interactions and feedback.
• Secondary research – using a range of secondary sources to support primary research including – the internet, trade journals, in-house research, trade associations, public reports, financial releases, company press releases.
• Building templates and workbooks – creating Excel-based templates and workbooks for data entry, collation, cleansing, and synthesis.
• Building base data – using primary and secondary research to build credible base data; ensuring sufficient coverage of market players; creating estimates where company reporting is not available; utilizing history; ensuring consistency with related data/markets; logging all assumptions and working in a clear way.
• Working alongside manager on the continuing evolution and refinement of business/operational processes to optimize quality, timeliness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of research execution and delivery. Continuous measurement of key KPIs in each area.
• Require 3 days of shift work (9pm-6am) in a month to have better overlap with US clients

Key Internal Relationships:

• Members of Research & Data sectors, including colleagues in Research Operations for coordination, planning, execution, and support of syndicated research deliverables
• Product Management colleagues across sectors - provide research support for the planning, launch, and execution of impactful, differentiated high-quality research products
• Data team – working together to create DBs and forecast tools to drive research efficiency, consistency, and quality

• Working closely with the Director of Operations & Senior Facilities Manager to ensure all facilities services meet the business needs.   

• Health and safety across all aspects of the property ensuring all new staff receive inductions and undertake necessary training as part of the Company’s onboarding process.  

• Ensuring compliance with all guidance and legalization.

• Managing the front of house and building support teams daily to ensure office sites are safe & secure. 

• Planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.

• Cleaning including scheduled and reactive work.    

• Office security provision and planning directly or through service charge element.  

• Catering and hospitality procurement and contract management  

• Front of House, reception, and post room operation. 

• Use of computer-aided facilities management systems for health and safety, sustainability, desk booking, meeting room booking, air-cond. Etc.   

• Vendor performance management including contract management.  

• Project management support and facilitation.  Moves and Churn planning and coordination.    

• Fiscal management.   

• List of duties is not exhaustive and will at times require remote support for other Global Support offices.   

• Customised Python development: contribute to internal and/or external libraries by raising issues, adding documentation and/or contributing new features; write clean, re-usable code, expertise in optimizing code, and the ability to perform code reviews for colleagues
• Data Domain knowledge: proven understanding of data sources and data and analytics requirements in Python and text mining with experience in data analysis or other enterprise platform operations activities.
• Right approach/tool choice: deep understanding of a wide range of commonly available Data Science approaches and tools and choose the right ones to solve the problem
• Data Manipulation: understand the lifecycle of the data and the data systems deployed in your team; make changes to the data tech stack; write and maintain advanced data pipelines; have expert Python skills; handle all types of data (e.g., streaming, structured, unstructured data)
• NLP and Machine Learning: understand and have applied a range of Natural Language Processing and machine learning methods to build data science algorithms (e.g., text mining and sentiment analysis)
• Operationalising Data: Proven expertise in bringing data and operations to scale, previous experiences including platforms such AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Scalability, Reliability, Maintenance: proven experience in building scalable and re-usable systems and automating operations

The role of Customer Success Specialist is to fulfill sales support and customer service to event and digital media clients, from point of sale to event date and rebook, customer service and co-ordination of sold programs.
