The Merchandising team at SMG help to ensure the products we sell are relevant, engaging and profitable, and ensure our retail spaces are appropriately stocked with the items our visitors want.
About the role
We are looking for a Merchandising Assistant to join our Retail department! This is a great opportunity for someone looking for an entry level position in a Merchandising team and looking to take on more to progress their career and personal development.
As first point of contact for the Merchandising team, you'll support the team to ensure all Museum sites are adequately stocked in order to keep the shops full and achieve the sales plan. Whilst managing a busy inbox for the team, you will also raise purchase orders and help with organising the timely delivery of merchandise/products.
You will maintain administrative systems and processes for our merchandising activity. As the first point of contact for enquiries, you will also support our EPoS system and work closely with other teams in the retail departments to help resolve issues and communicate sales information.
You will also support with maintaining spreadsheets for monitoring data, and generally ensuring the team runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. This will also include raising purchase orders and processing invoice requests, collaborating with the finance team to achieve this.
As we endeavour to offer flexibility where possible, this role will work to a hybrid working pattern with an onsite presence at the Science Museum, London.
Contract: Full time 35 hours per week, Permanent
Salary: £23,933 per annum

About you
We are open to how you have gained your administration experience - Above all your outstanding customer service, keen eye for detail and ability to keep organised will be the priority.
Having previously supported a busy, dynamic team; you will be well organised, have good IT skills, and an active team player. Flexible and responsive, you can communicate well with a range of people and enjoy working with others.
Knowledge of basic financial administration experience will be helpful but not essential.
