The Research Administration & Development Office (RADO) is established to serve as an administration & liaison office to support all research works at National Heart Research Institute Singapore, National Heart Centre Singapore.

As a RADO executive, you will assist with research grant applications and manage awarded grants. You will update all grant data in the research administration database in a timely manner and upkeep the maintenance of the database. You are responsible for extracting, processing and collating data relating to research KPIs and ensuring data accuracy. You will also liaise with external grant agencies, the Ministry of Health, other hospitals and professional bodies on grant and administrative matters.

In addition, you will assist in the planning, implementation and administration of research policies and programmes. You will be involved in the research space planning and responsible for the maintenance of equipment inventory. You will also provide procurement support on research laboratory equipment and common supplies. Other administrative duties include minutes writing and co-ordinating/organising research meetings, forums, conferences, presentations and training. The selected candidate will be offered employment on 2-years renewable contractual terms.

Requirements:

• Degree in Biomedical Science or Life Science
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management
• Meticulous with demonstrated organisational skill, able to multi-task and work independently
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills

You will support the Education Office by assisting and coordinating in the area of posting and evaluation, faculty activities, orientation of medical students, program planning and scheduling, examinations and teaching activities. You will also support the supervisor in the area of operations and administrative support for undergraduate and postgraduate educational activities.

The Assistant / Manager will set up and oversee planning & coordination of the operational, manpower and administrative matters of the Education Office. He/ She is expected to identify educational and training development opportunities within the Intermediate and Long Term Care (ILTC) sector - including reviewing landscape analysis of the ILTC education resources, needs, stakeholders and opportunities. He/ She will ensure the SCH Education Office plays a pivotal role within SingHealth (SingHealth Residency, Group Education, the Academic Medicine Education Institute (AM.EI), Regional Health Systems) and the community.

He/ She will also drive partnership development and administrative support in collaborations with local/ overseas institutions (e.g. developing MOUs, collaborative and clinical placement agreements, funding support, etc) – including Ministries and government agencies, Institutes of Higher Learning, and other ILTC partners on ILTC training matters. He/ She is also expected to lead in key educational initiatives such as curriculum development, conference programme development, and organisation and faculty development activities.

SGH Research Office (RO) serves as a one-stop centre for all research-related matters. RO is seeking a suitable candidate with experience in drafting and execution of research and clinical trial agreements.

As part of the Research Office, the candidate will be reporting to the Manager (Research Agreements and Partnership). The candidate will be expected to perform the following roles and responsibilities:

• Facilitate the negotiation process with external parties on research-related agreements including but not limited to NDAs, MTAs, RCAs and CTAs.
• Work with external and internal teams to draft, review and finalise research-related agreements
• Advise and assist Principal Investigators on research-related matters and compliance to internal research-related policies and procedures.
• Formulate and implement research agreements-related policies, processes and dashboards.
• Assist in report collation, provide administrative support for RO related meetings and events, and other ad-hoc duties to support the RO functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in medical, health, science, law related areas or general degree with relevant experience
• At least 2 years’ experience in managing research agreements,
• Familiarity with healthcare systems in research related areas is an advantage
• Strong problem solving and communication skills and ability to adapt to fast-moving situations is necessity to handle researchers, management and other stakeholders.

You will have a broad responsibility in the evaluation of innovation projects which is a critical step in identifying high impact projects with benefits to patients/staff and/or cost savings. Your scope of work includes the following items:

a. Independently conduct systematic and non-systematic literature review using various search engines and public databases to evaluate the potential value of health innovations

b. Identify subject areas for data extraction and conduct data extraction and data wrangling from institutional databases to support the evaluation of the potential value of health innovations and for specific research projects

c. Draft and format evaluation reports for innovation teams and management reporting d. Manage projects from start to end with guidance (i.e. develop research objectives and study design, perform data extraction and data collation, conduct data modelling, perform statistical analysis and engage and collaborate with various stakeholders)

e. Perform statistical analysis and other data analysis for various impact assessment projects

f. Perform health technology assessments (cost analysis, cost effectiveness analysis, cost utility analysis or budget impact analysis) with guidance

g. Draft research abstracts and manuscripts

h. Support secretariat and administrative functions pertaining to the impact assessment unit

i. Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by Head of Department (HOD) and/or supervisor

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency with Statistical applications and in Project Management is preferred
• Knowledge and skills in project management, process improvement, improvement methodologies and tools and techniques, such as design thinking, lean and Six Sigma, would be a strong advantage

You will support the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Research & Education to oversee and implement the research programmes and initiatives of the National Dental Research Institute Singapore (NDRIS). Additionally, you will support the Academic Chair to oversee the academic initiatives under the Oral Health Academic Clinical Program (ORH ACP). You will be in-charge of managing research and academic support grants awarded to NDRIS and ORH ACP.

You will be responsible for research and academic strategic planning and implementation of the NDRIS’ and ORH ACP’s research and academic masterplans. You will be in charge of formulating and reviewing research and academic policies and procedures. You will be required to develop grant proposals and presentation decks for research and academic programmes and prepare cases for support to attract philanthropy funding. You will oversee the organisation of strategic initiatives, including planning strategic retreats, study trips and visits by key overseas delegations. You will facilitate partnerships with collaborators and industry players.

• PhD/ Masters in Science or other related field with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in research and academic administration
• At least 6 years of supervisory experience will be preferred
