Housekeeping Team Leader
Starting June 2024, a Housekeeping Team Leader is required for a hospitality establishment in Port Hedland, Western Australia. This is a full time, ongoing position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Balances team working schedules to maintain and improve the economy and productivity of the Housekeeping Department in absence of Executive Housekeeper.
• Monitors daily attendance, time keeping, sick leave and annual holidays in absence of your Executive Housekeeper.
• Supervises and trains, Housepersons and Public Area Cleaners.
• Checks each floor report and places for each Attendant to use that day.
• Checks all rooms as Attendants report them clean.
• Liaise closely with Reception regarding any changes or specials in absence of Executive Housekeeper.
• Reports any potential health and safety hazards to the Health and Safety Officer or Executive Housekeeper.
• Ensures all team members are familiar with hotel policies and the Team Handbook.
• Ensures that good standards are maintained, and that safety is to the highest priority.
• Responsible for the management of the Housekeeping Department in absence of Executive Housekeeper.
• Creates a congenial work environment for all team members ensuring high levels of morale.
• Takes extreme care with personal grooming to maintain a consistently high level of professional appearance.
• Greets each guest in a polite and courteous manner being careful not to confuse friendliness with familiarity.
• Complies with all the hotel’s standard operational policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Handbook.
• Replenishes and controls guest supplies.
• Reporting valuables left lying around by in-house guests as per Lost & Found Policy and Procedures.
• Reporting lost property left by departing guests into CMS Lost and Found Section and then handing to Reception for further action.
• Reporting anything that is not working, missing or damaged as these may be charged to the guest – report to Executive Housekeeper immediately.
• Reporting suspicious / unacceptable behaviour immediately to Executive Housekeeper and Front Office Manager.
• Reporting a sick guest to Executive Housekeeper immediately, ensure staff are aware to stay out of the room follow Covid Rules.
• Reporting guests who have been cooking in the room where there are no cooking facilities and advise them this is not acceptable.
• Reporting pets in rooms to Executive Housekeeper for action.
• Has a full knowledge of and practices all the Hotel’s established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S)
• Attends monthly departmental communication, training and information meetings as directed by Executive Housekeeper.
• Carries out other duties as directed by the Executive Housekeeper
Applicants must have the appropriate amount of training and experience as you will be required to supervise and train new employees engaged in the Housekeeping department.
The hourly rate will be in line with Level 5 under the Hospitality Award: $27.83. You will work 38 hours per week.
Accommodation is provided on-site for $100-$200/ week.
