We are seeking a dynamic individual to become an integral part of our Kununurra team for the role of Accountant.



Job Description

Preparation of payroll, financial statements, Business Activity Statements, and related bookkeeping work.
Preparation of Individual, Partnership, Company, and Trust tax returns.
Financial reporting and grant documentation for the Not-for-profit sector.
Presentation to Not-for-profit board members including travel to remote location.
Managing a small Business Services team in Katherine office.
Working closely with clients to get additional information related to their lodgments and reporting.
Mentor interns and graduates at Katherine office.
Travel across our regional offices to assist with work requirements.
Any other tasks assigned by the management team.


Qualifications/ Experience required

A degree in Business Management/Accounting/Finance/Marketing
CA/CPA equivalent qualification is an added advantage
3-5 years’ experience in Public Practice

About the Role
Katherine based chartered accounting firm that deals in taxation, bookkeeping and business advice. We have many not-for-profit clients and a broad commercial client base dealing in agriculture, tourism and other services. This role will be working with both junior and senior staff in taxation and financial reporting roles.
We have 40 employees, across 3 locations, including 28 qualified accountants.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage a small team of staff in Katherine, NT
- Financial reporting and grant documentations for the not-for-profit sector
- Presentations to Not-for-profit board members including travel to remote locations
- Company, trust and partnership tax returns and financial statements
- Mentor interns and graduates
- Travel to Darwin to assist in graduate training program and to meet with management team quarterly

Skills and Experience
- This role requires 5 years public practice experience working in a similar role
- You will have your CA or CPA
- Excellent oral presentation skills

Job Description
• Developing and reviewing policies and procedures concerning customer relations and making customers aware of KAS services.
• Managing motivating and developing staff dealing with customer service across the offices.
• Ensure operational efficiency within the offices and provide direction and feedback to team members related to customer service.
• Planning and implementing procedures to follow-up customers on customer expectation/satisfaction, after sales services and enhanced services.
• Working closely with management in new client acquisition and organizational growth.
• Administrate daily operations of Katherine office.
• Leading the small tax team and ensuring tax returns are completed and lodged on time with ATO.
• Having periodical meetings with the higher management on customer service and satisfaction to discuss further the progress to be made in customer services.

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Admin (Receptionist) to join our talented team.

Responsibilities

As an Accounting Admin, your main responsibilities include:

• Handle 20-30 calls daily (30% of role)
• Accounting admin tasks (70% of role):
• ATO correspondence & client communication
• Final run collation & follow-up
• Client data maintenance in APS
• Debtor statements & invoices
• Client grading & database updates
• Now infinity annual statements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in using accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations is a plus.
