Location: Melbourne Role Overview: This is an exciting chance for an experienced Senior Actuarial professional looking to grow their career with a global Insurer in the role of Actuarial Manager with a key focus on providing actuarial valuation and portfolio support for Short tail NZ and Pacific portfolios Your Key Responsibilities:
Conduct end to end reserving work for various products
Key point of contact for short tail reserving related matters
Coaching/managing Analysts
Support end to end quarterly adequacy reporting processes
Support end to end annual budget setting process
Drive strong engagement with the business through regular and proactive communication, assisting with business needs, contributing to key business decisions
Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and assist in implementing them
Qualifications and Experience:
Open to take your career to a senior level
An ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate data from several sources and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment across a broad area of accountability
Demonstrated skills in communicating concepts verbally and in writing in a simple, professional manner across a wide range of focus areas
Newly or nearly qualified as a Fellow with the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent)
Problem solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
Proficiency in commonly used programmes, Microsoft Excel, SQL, VBA
Solid experience working in a General Insurance reserving capacity (or equivalent experience)
Location and Work Arrangement:
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of one anchor day in the office.
While the preferred location is Melbourne.
