Job Title: Accounts Executive (Income Audit)

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepare and distribution of daily revenue and statistics report, ensure all revenue transactions are taken-up correctly.
2. Investigation all the revenue discrepancies and make necessary adjustment.
3. Review all rebates and allowances and manual posting transaction to ensure they are properly authorised.
4. Ensure that the hotel’s policies, procedures and controls relating to Revenue Audit are adhered to.
5. Attend to guest’s enquiries or disputes on billing and invoices requests.
6. To be ready and responsible when assigned to perform any other duties as designated by higher management.
7. Assist with the month-end closing as specified.
8. Maintain complete knowledge of property management system, point of sales and manual procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum Diploma or Higher.
2. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel).
3. Experienced working in a hospitality/resort industry will be a plus.
4. High degree of accuracy and attention to details.
5. Ability to multi-task successfully under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Willing to work flexible schedule in order to accomplish all responsibilities and tasks required.
7. Proficiency in Oracle Opera Property Management System is an added advantage.

About the Role
Katherine based chartered accounting firm that deals in taxation, bookkeeping and business advice. We have many not-for-profit clients and a broad commercial client base dealing in agriculture, tourism and other services. This role will be working with both junior and senior staff in taxation and financial reporting roles.
We have 40 employees, across 3 locations, including 28 qualified accountants.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage a small team of staff in Katherine, NT
- Financial reporting and grant documentations for the not-for-profit sector
- Presentations to Not-for-profit board members including travel to remote locations
- Company, trust and partnership tax returns and financial statements
- Mentor interns and graduates
- Travel to Darwin to assist in graduate training program and to meet with management team quarterly

Skills and Experience
- This role requires 5 years public practice experience working in a similar role
- You will have your CA or CPA
- Excellent oral presentation skills

Responsibilities

• To handle Account Receivable and Account Payable function, daily operations, and month-end-closing.
• Ensures that accurate records are kept by standard practices.
• Keep accurate records for all daily transactions.
• Manage the Accounts Payable process including booking of entries and payment, ensure that local GST is properly accounted.
• Performing timely investigations and follow up on outstanding transactions.
• Monitoring transactions, identifying irregularities in invoices, monitor bank deposits and payments, credit notes, debit notes and etc.
• Review and implement financial policies.

Generate, monitor, and follow up on inventory aging.

Reconciliation of subledger reports with general ledger.

Perform & witness stock disposal.

Reporting

Due to maternity leave, we are looking to recruit a Senior Accounting Technician on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

As a Senior Accounting Technician, you will be providing management accounting support to a range of services within the Adult Social Care Department.

The work is both interesting and varied and includes:

•Preparation of monthly budget monitoring reports

•Supporting budget managers to deliver a sustainable budget by analysing budget information and providing financial advice

•Ensuring that transactions are posted correctly in the financial ledger

•Maintaining the budgets for your areas of responsibility in conjunction with budget managers

•Completing monthly reconciliations of income and expenditure in relation to joint funded arrangements

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

•Excellent IT, Excel, and numeracy skills

•Attention to detail

•Ability to work to deadlines

•Good problem solving and analytical skills

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels

A recognised accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or relevant experience is required.
