Solid Pay & Benefits for Growing Tech
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the base salary and stock options are pretty competitive for this industry. The health insurance benefits are also really solid, I've no complaints there. It's a decent package overall.
Cons: Stock refreshers can feel a bit inconsistent year-to-year, which makes planning tough. Also, the 401k match isn't top-tier, could be better compared to some other big tech firms.
Advice to Management: Consider making stock refreshers more predictable for employees. Review the 401k matching program to ensure it's truly competitive within the big tech landscape.

Decent Work-Life Balance for a Big Tech Company
Pros: I really appreciate the remote work flexibility. As a Software Engineer working remotely from Austin, TX, I can manage my day pretty well. The teams are usually pretty good about respecting boundaries, which is a big plus in the cybersecurity industry.
Cons: There are definitely crunch times, especially before big launches or when we're dealing with urgent security issues. Sometimes, project deadlines feel unrealistic, leading to longer hours. It's not consistently a 40-hour week.
Advice to Management: Try to be more realistic with project timelines and resource allocation. It'd help a lot with preventing burnout during those peak times.

Fast-paced, good for learning in tech
Pros: I really liked the bright people I worked with. Everyone's super smart, especially within the network infrastructure and cybersecurity space. As a Software Engineer, the projects were always challenging, which is great for career growth. There's good flexibility for remote work from my home office.
Cons: The work-life balance isn't always there. It's a big tech company, so things move really fast. There's a lot of pressure to deliver quickly. Sometimes, the internal communication across teams could be better, making it tough to align on goals.
Advice to Management: Try to ease up on the constant pressure for immediate deliverables. Better cross-team communication would help avoid bottlenecks and burnout.
