Job Purpose / Overview

Responsible for overall day to day sales administration and coordination duties. Working closely with the sales team to provide administrative support to the teams.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities :

• To perform thorough Site Visit by understanding the Tender Requirements, as well as attending
• Tender Briefing and Q&A with the customer during tender briefing or site visit
• To compile accurate and necessary Engineering Bill of Quantity and Costing as well as the comprehensive User Requirement details
• To oversee and maintain the project timeline to deliver on time without increasing the cost for both company and client. This also includes managing the labour cost and their work efficiency.
• To have continuous and maintain proper communication with customer/PIC in all aspects of the project as well as to company stakeholders i.e., PM / GM (General Manager)
• To prepare a Daily Site Diary that is acknowledged by client. And when necessary, provide the site memo and change request documents for customer acknowledgement before proceeding with any changes to initial work scope.
• Change Request should also be documented and highlighted to the
  PM immediately.
• Provide necessary reports in writing and pictures on a daily/timely basis. This includes using the smart sheet for timeline/progress update while an immediate approach must be applied for any issue register and directly reporting to Project Manager.
• All BQ equipment must be updated daily with valuable information and remarks precisely noted, i.e. Status and exact Location of Installation, Serial Numbers and Products Code/Name noted, Items not Installed and Additional Add-on covered under project cost as well as Change Request.
• To ensure the quality of our installation and T&C is carried out in compliance with the required standard and customer expectations.
• To identify technical issues and ensure all of them are properly addressed.
• To review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions.
• To ensure the work safety compliance at all Site/Premises is carried out. This also applies to the Rules & Regulations set by the Client/Building/Project Owner.
• All settings & Configuration of the equipment and system must be documented in an orderly manner and shared with all stakeholders from time to time.
• To compile all documents in an orderly manner to PMO Office.
• When any mishap or issues arise, immediate attention and assistance must be sought.
• Stakeholders must be informed immediately.
• To perform Testing & Commissioning of System, User Acceptance Test and Handover of Project to Customer and Internal Stakeholders.

Information management
• In the absence of the Wheelchair Repair Lead, analyse and interpret wheelchair prescriptions to decide whether a wheelchair in stock could be refurbished cost-effectively and in a timely manner to meet 18 week RTT targets, requesting new wheelchairs where this is unlikely to be the case.
• Complete asset disposal forms for wheelchairs disposed of, listing the reason for disposal.

• Act in accordance with COSHH and PPE regulations.

Physical skills
• Able to use a wide range of tools/electrical and mechanical equipment to repair and maintain complex and non-complex wheelchairs and accessories.
• Support clinical service by recommending technical solutions to repair issues including welding, respraying using spray booth and manufacturing bespoke parts for wheelchairs (e.g. arm raisers, foot boards), supported by Wheelchair Repair Lead if needed.
• Utilising lifting equipment (e.g. pneumatic ramp) to complete repairs on ‘heavy’ powered wheelchairs which cannot be completed by Field Engineers outside of the workshop.

Operational Delivery
• To provide technical advice to admin team to troubleshoot wheelchair faults, saving the need for an Engineer visit.
• When disposing of wheelchairs, identify any reusable parts, refurbishing them to the required standard.
• Refurbishment of wheelchairs and associated mechanical and electrical parts to ‘as new’ standard.
• Request supplies, parts and accessories in preparation for refurbishment, repairs and maintenance.
• Liaise with suppliers/technical departments to resolve technical issues relating to wheelchairs and associated equipment.

Risk and Governance
• Liaise with clinical and administrative colleagues to report technical/safety issues relating to wheelchairs and equipment or to discuss prescriptions as necessary.
• Escalate any patient safety issues/incidents to Wheelchair Repair Lead.
• Conduct electrical safety testing of wheelchair chargers.

Patient contact
• When covering for Field Engineers, Wheelchair Engineers will be required to carry out a daily round of patient visits, repairing, servicing and maintaining wheelchairs in the patient’s residence, clinical setting etc.
• Attend emergency repairs during the working day when requested by Wheelchair Repair Lead.
• Be aware of specialist needs of patients, both mental and physical, and maintain a professional customer service attitude when dealing with patients and their families/representatives.
• During ‘pit stop’ repairs at base, discuss with patients/representatives repair and maintenance issues, escalating any clinical issues to the clinical service where required.
• Handover of stock basic wheelchairs to patients at Red House, informing them of its use and any safety information as required.

Requirements:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or alternative equivalent practical experience
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, Member of IStructE, ICE or other relevant institution

• Commercially aware

Our client an established Chemicals Manufacturing business are currently looking to recruit an experienced and apprentice trained Mechanical Shift Engineer working a 4 on 4 off split shift pattern of 2 days and 2 nights (12 hour shifts).

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance work in an industrial environment working on equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, mechanical seals, pipework etc.
• Mechanical plant installation and modification work
• Operation of a boiler, waste solvent incineration and emissions abatement plant
• Statutory inspections - pressure testing, plant integrity and commissioning work
• The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
• The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works
• Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems

Candidate Requirements:

• Hold City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Fitting / Engineering Discipline - ESSENTIAL
• Ideally hold a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
• Previous Experience / Training with MEWP's, Abrasive Wheels, and Confined Spaces Mechanically would be highly desirable

Our client a leading and established chemical manufacturing business are currently looking to recruit an experienced and apprentice trained Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Team.

This is a Days Based position working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day supervision of a team of approximately 11 Mechanical Maintenance Technicians, covering preventative and reactive maintenance
• Mentor and train Technicians as and when required
• Organise and manage, alongside the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, all planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring the highest level of productivity and efficiency of equipment
• Strong understanding of CMMS and standard computer software packages
• Use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information used to assist in works
• In depth understanding and experience of working with a wide variety of mechanical equipment including Gearboxes, Pumps, Mechanical Seals, Pipework etc.
• Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems
• Ensure Health & Safety is adhered to, and all paperwork is completed to correct standards and in line with company policies

Candidate Requirements:

• Educated to a minimum City & Guilds level in a Mechanical Fitting / Engineering Discipline
• A Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience within an industrial mechanical maintenance environment
• Previous experience of working within the Chemical, Polymers, Petro-Chemical or other high hazard, process based manufacturing environments would be highly desirable
• Good leadership and communication skills
