Leadership has its moments, good and bad.
Pros: I appreciate the support from my direct manager in the Sacramento, CA office. They really push for career development, which is great for a Marketing Specialist starting out. The company culture is generally okay. People are collaborative, especially within our product development teams in this food production industry.
Cons: The executive leadership can feel pretty distant. Key decisions about our consumer goods often drop without much context, which makes adapting tough for teams. There's a noticeable lack of consistent direction from the top. It feels like different departments get different signals, creating confusion.
Advice to Management: Work on transparency from the top. More open communication about company strategy would help everyone. Invest in leadership training for all levels. Consistency across the board would be a huge plus.

Growth Is Slow in This Tech Startup
Pros: The team here is solid, especially within the development team. You learn a lot from your peers working on the SaaS product. They do offer decent benefits for a startup in Austin, TX and the hybrid model offers good work flexibility.
Cons: As a Software Engineer, there aren't many clear paths to move up. It's tough to get promotions or even new responsibilities. I've been on the same projects for ages and growth opportunities are just missing. Leadership doesn't really focus on individual career development plans.
Advice to Management: Please invest more in structured career development programs for your employees. Define clear promotion criteria and provide opportunities for engineers to take on new challenges, not just stay on the same old projects. This will help with retention.
