About The Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer & Java Developer (m/w/d) to join our Input-Management team, focusing on SmartFix and DocAI solutions. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for professionalizing the Input-Management (IPM) system of SIGNAL IDUNA and ensuring its stable operation. You will design and implement future-proof IT architectures, leveraging Java and microservices to develop robust, maintainable, and scalable code. Beyond coding, you will take ownership of the entire software lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on cloud technologies and automation.

As a vital member of an agile squad, you will go beyond traditional development roles to ensure the seamless operation of microservices and third-party software such as SmartFix by Insiders. You will become a subject matter expert in the SmartFix solution, working with SaaS offerings like Google Cloud's DocAI, and managing end-to-end processes. Your passion for cloud technologies and software quality will be instrumental in delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a degree in (Business) Informatics, IT-related vocational training, or possesses equivalent practical experience. You should have initial experience in configuring and operating cloud environments, preferably on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Spring, Angular, and Python, along with building microservices via REST APIs, is essential. Familiarity with cloud functions, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Grafana is highly desirable. Proficiency in version control systems like Gitlab, coupled with a strong understanding of clean coding principles and agile methodologies, will set you apart. Motivated to learn new architectures and technologies, you demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain DevOps practices, including automated testing (JUnit, Jest, Cypress) and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, to ensure high-quality software delivery and operational stability.
• Handle the daily operation, installation, configuration, and ongoing development of the SmartFix software solution from Insiders, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Take technical ownership of products, refactor code to improve structure, and utilize monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana to guarantee top-tier system observability.
• Design and develop scalable, future-proof architectures for Input-Management, utilizing Google Cloud technologies to meet evolving business needs.
• Enhance logic and algorithms to enable automated recognition and processing of customer inquiries, optimizing customer service workflows.
• Explore and implement SaaS solutions such as Google Cloud's DocAI, integrating them into existing enterprise architectures for seamless operations.
• Develop and implement robust connectors within a comprehensive insurance-specific enterprise architecture, ensuring secure and efficient data flow across systems.
