What will I be doing?

As an Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel, daily, maintenance checks, and repairing mechanical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. An Assistant Maintenance Manager will also be required to coordinate renovation projects and develop emergency programs. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

To carry out practical maintenance jobs to plant, buildings and equipment to assist with the safe and smooth operating of Linden Care Homes
Main duties of the role.
• Undertake all planned statutory testing/inspections which include Fire Alarms, emergency lights, lifts and equipment inspections. Checking temperatures of water heaters, sinks, showers and baths,
• Undertake all routine planned maintenance tasks and repairs as per schedule.
• Minor building work repairs to include carpentry repair’s (examples locks window stay etc.) small plumbing jobs and minor electrical jobs (changing lamps, plugs etc.)
• Painting and decorating
• Equipment running repairs- bed frames, wheelchairs, trolleys etc.
• Monthly, quarterly and 6 monthly cleaning of shower heads and waste traps
• Testing of Portable electrical appliances and maintaining of the PAT testing log.
• Liaise with trades and contractors working in the Homes.
• Driving duties
• Vehicle safety checks (water, tyres, fuel etc.)
• Purchase and collection of consumables and control of maintenance stock

Personal Specification
• Hands on practical person with experience in building trades an advantage but not essential (Electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating)
• Able to work autonomously without supervision is a must.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team player
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to drive
• You will also be subject to a DBS check, and will be required to provide relevant ID in accordance with this check.

Role Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Engineer Manager at Hotel Indigo Exeter, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel by managing and maintaining its physical assets and infrastructure. Your responsibilities include:

o Overseeing and managing the hotel's maintenance team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
o Planning and executing maintenance and repair activities for the hotel's facilities, including rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems.
o Managing and ensuring the proper functioning of essential systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
o Scheduling and supervising preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and operational disruptions.
o Collaborating with other departments to address maintenance-related issues promptly and efficiently.
o Managing maintenance budgets and expenses while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
o Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
o Evaluating and recommending improvements to enhance the hotel's physical assets.
o Handling maintenance-related emergencies and providing timely solutions.

Key Requirements
You should possess the following skills and qualifications:

o Previous experience in maintenance management within the hotel or hospitality industry.
o Strong technical and mechanical knowledge, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
o Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
o Leadership and team management skills.
o Ability to manage maintenance budgets and resources effectively.
o Proficiency in IT applications for maintenance management.
o Knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
