As a Security Officer within the Office of Management Services - Security Management Branch, some of your specific duties will include:
- Serves as the Bureau Security Officer in the management, development, and on-going evaluation of the Bureau's Personnel and Suitability, Physical, and National Security Programs in concert with Federal, Department of Interior (DOI) and Bureau regulation, policy, and practices.
- Serves as a senior advisor to management and executive leadership developing and implementing strategic plans in support of the Bureau Security operations, policies, and regulations that impacts the Bureau's mission and interface with other operational or security programs.
- Analyzes regulations, directives, and policies originating with DOI, Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), and Homeland Security to determine their impact need for new or modified USGS issuances or policy.
- Manages and leads the development of short and long-range planning activities and initiatives that include work plans addressing changing technology, work processes, and directives affecting the Bureau's Security Program.
- Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities to include planning and reviewing work, staffing, identifying training needs, implementing EEO policies, evaluating employees' performance, and carrying out disciplinary actions.
- Operates a government owned or leased vehicle as an incidental driver.
