Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mobile Developer specializing in Android development to join our robo advisory app development team. This is a full-time role, based in Kuala Lumpur: Megan Avenue 1, Jalan Tun Razak (10 mins walk from Ampang Park LRT).

As the Android developer within the department, you will collaborate closely with senior iOS developer(s) to create and maintain our cutting-edge mobile application. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality mobile experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance the Android application for our robo advisories platform.
• Collaborate with the senior iOS developer to ensure consistency and seamless integration between the Android and iOS platforms.
• Work closely with the product management team to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices for software development.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure a visually appealing and user-friendly interface.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, including bug fixes and performance optimizations.
• Conduct unit testing and assist in the implementation of automated testing frameworks.
• Provide mobile analytics and metrics for product owners regarding performance of mobile apps.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in native Android development.
• Proficient in Kotlin programming languages.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services integration.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns with version control systems, such as Git / SVN.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Familiarity Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of and desire to work in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Proven knowledge and practical application of design patterns ie. MVVM/MVI.
• Knowledgeable around performance tuning, memory optimization, monitoring, and crash analysis.
• Understanding of mobile design principles and interface guidelines.
• Experience in iOS Native Development is a plus.
