Job Description:
- The Interim Assistant Accountant will provide cover for resources amid finance transformations work conducted among the Asia Finance team.
-They will be responsible for Financial & Statutory Reporting and Finance Operation activities to deliver all-rounded support to the Finance function and ensure financials are compliant to internal and statutory requirements.
-In addition, the incumbent will be the Finance contact to support the Legal and Fiduciary fee-earning operations by assisting with billing /matter maintenance requests, advising on cash receipts and handling client monies.
Responsibilities:
• Provide finance operation support and cover by processing Revenue related transactions (billing, cash receipts & client monies), Accounts Payables transactions (Vendor invoices, Disbursements & Staff Reimbursement) and Bank transactions (Daily cashbook & Bank Reconciliations) to maintain an up-to-date status of the firm’s working capital and liquidity position
• Correspond to queries from fee earners and BASE Management through analysing financial information from multiple sources (Elite Enterprise / cashbook records / Document Management System), determining solutions and delivering promptly responses
• Ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance of financial statements (P&L, B/S, Cashflow) by managing the accounting books (GL accounting, journal adjustments and balance sheet provisions), preparing balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing management accounts
• Report on the firm’s exposure status by reviewing matter reports (Unbilled time/Unpaid Fees/Holding matters), collate comments from fee earners and circulate to the fee earning team for actions
• Conduct statutory reporting such as IRAS Tax Reporting (GST returns, IRA8 reporting and Profit Tax returns) and drive annual audit assignments (Group and Local Audit) to ensure adherence to Group Policy, IRAS and ACRA requirement
• Assist in Projects, Fiduciary separation activity, process improvement projects and other enhancement initiatives
Requirements:
• Degree holder in Accounting or Finance
• Proven relevant experience gained in the legal or professional service industry
• Knowledgeable of Singapore statutory requirements
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Disciplined with proven ability to show initiative
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
