In February 2024, Ofsted graded our school as ‘’good’ in all categories and identified the strategic SEND strategy as good. “Leaders ensure that effective support is in place for pupils with SEND. Teachers receive appropriate training, so that they can meet pupils’ individual needs”.
We have embarked on our next strategic journey of SEND, we are seeking to appoint an Assistant SENCO to join our team to further develop on inclusion across the school. The successful applicant’s line manager will be the Senior Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, and they will work alongside an existing Assistant SENCO, and so will be well supported.
We are looking for an experienced professional who can help to lead the direction and development of SEND policy and provision, ensuring that Caludon School continues to be an inclusive environment where students with SEND can thrive and achieve expected outcomes.
You will jointly lead the provision which supports students with their academic, personal and social development. The role is demanding but very rewarding. The post will lead a wider team with enthusiasm and commitment and will support staff to deliver high quality first teaching in line with the SEND Code of Practice in our fantastic school. • Ideally hold the National SENCO award; although we are prepared to offer training to the right candidate

Job Description

The Assistant Teacher (助理老师）will assist the Child Care Teacher and the Principal in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities.

• Working alongside Child Care Teacher, provide appropriate learning experiences for children within an inquiry, play-based context

• Create a safe, clean, warm and nurturing environment for children
• Build and maintain close partnership with teachers and parents
• Look into the routine needs of children

Qualifications

• Possess Certificate/ACEY/FUndamental in Early Childhood

· Checking students in and out of lessons and therapy sessions

· Taking temperature during check in and before check out

· Step in as teachers assistants when needed (relief teaching assistant)

· Assist teachers and therapists where you are needed, including toileting and diapering for children

· Monitor office inventory levels and raise purchase request to Head of Operations if procurement is required.

· Assist Therapists in cleaning up and tidying materials after sessions or classes

· Daily maintenance of Therapy Centre e.g. simple wiping down of toys and racks, clearing bins

· Assist with answering enquiries

· Other jobs as assigned by Head of Operations / Clinical Director

· Work in a multi-disciplinary team of SPED Teachers and Therapists

· 8.30am – 1pm weekdays
