Duties & Responsibilities

· Assesses and provides individualized Speech Therapy intervention for children with a wide range of speech and language challenges (eg. Apraxia of Speech or Specific Language Impairment)

· Conducts group Speech Therapy classes (eg. in the areas of socialization and communication)

· In class support in the Early Intervention classroom

· Establishes good therapist - parent relationships through regular feedback and open communication; provides parents and caregivers with updates on the child’s progress and relevant home strategies and recommendations after each session with the child

· Update parents regarding sessions and progress after each session (text/photos/videos etc)

· Updating case notes post-sessions regularly and independently

Requirements:

· Degree, or post-graduate qualification in speech therapy therapy from a recognized university.

· Registered and complies with the regulations under the Allied Health Professions Act.

· At least 3 years experience working with children would be preferable

ROLE

The role of Speech and Language Therapists involves assessing clients, planning interventions, implementing therapy plans, evaluating progress in accordance with the given service delivery model for clients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in the assigned program. The role also requires conducting caregiver education and teachers training, to equip them with the necessary strategies and skills in supporting the client's learning and development. The role requires working collaboratively in a transdisciplinary team comprising of other professionals, teachers, and caregivers for maximizing the clients’ skills towards independence and active participation in natural settings. The job scope also entails assisting senior colleagues in projects, specialized clinics, research work, performing departmental operational tasks, and participating in continuing education. Teaching Siri how to understand and speak new languages is the main goal of our team, together with designing and implementing a highly locally customized experience for our users. We are looking for highly motivated Vietnamese-speaking engineers, with strong software engineering skills and high sensibility for foreign languages and cultures.

Key Qualifications

• Fluency in Vietnamese to support the Vietnam market and ability to work in an English-speaking environment
• Strong Software Engineering Fundamentals
• Proficiency in at least one Object-Oriented programming language
• Quick prototyping, scripting and tool development (Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell and etc.)
• Experience with one or more version control systems
• Familiarity with machine learning methods for classification, regression, or ranking problems
• Knowledge of Text Processing, NLP techniques and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
• Analytic mindset and obsession for data
• Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills and getting-things-done attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication, team player mentality and collaborative in nature

• Engineering Natural Language Processing and Speech components specific to your language
• Using the power of large amount of data to tackle complex NLP and machine learning problems
• Leading data annotation efforts and define language specific representations, conventions andtechniques
• Analyzing data and making data driven decisions to improve the localized user experience
• Automating, scripting and integrating workflow from diverse systems
• Providing insights and suggestions towards innovative new approaches and new product features tailored to your home market
• Developing creative solutions to complex issues
• Interacting with other teams at Apple working towards the same goal; from Speech Recognition Specialists, Data Scientists and Speech Synthesis engineers

Education

BS/MSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience
