Nature of Work:
The Test Development Engineer will design, develop and implement automatic functional testers and test programs for design verification and production testing. Responsibilities include design of tester electronic circuits and test software development to attain best test coverage, optimized throughput and test automation. The person will develop, maintain and support production test procedures and equipment on site and in other locations abroad. This position resides in the Sanmina Design Centre.
Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities includes but not limited to the following
- Define and design new production test equipment for new products developed by Sanmina or from customers
- Create test design documentation including tester architecture, test instructions, tester specifications, drawings and verification plans
- Prepare tester proposal that covers schedule and costs
- Generate test software in LabVIEW/Visual Basic or other software tools, define GUI and test framework
- Liaise with sub-contractors and other Sanmina sites to implement production testing
- Provide technical support to manufacturing including hands-on debug of test systems, and train support personnel at the manufacturing site.
- Work with design engineers and manufacturing team to resolve design issues and to support production problems
- Keep abreast of tester technologies and industry trend and introduce new tester innovation
- Light to moderate travel to company, customer and other facilities. May be international.
- Able to work well across disciplines and departments
Job Requirements:
- Degree calibre level in electronics or related disciplines or equivalent
- Proven track record in test development with at least 2 years relevant experience
- Ability to read and understand schematics, PCB files and fixture designs
- Experience of test fixtures assembly and cable management techniques
- Understanding of electromechanical production and test processes
- Experience in developing tests for automatic execution and the complete test development life cycle of products
- Knowledge / experience of RF product manufacturing and Testing
- Must be able to operate with minimal supervision in a manner consistent with divisional and corporate goals.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
