This role, as part of the ICBs governance and assurance directorate, will build a new, dynamic, function to deliver against these requirements. This is a new senior role in the ICB structure which presents a unique and exciting opportunity to lead and grow a new team of c. 8, create insight structures in collaboration with others (analysts, quality leads etc) to enable dynamic and impactful assurance conversations and grow and develop as an individual at the centre of a large strategic NHS organisation. The role will play a role as part of the ICB leadership community in ensuring we are focused on the right issues to shape our shared approach for delivering improved healthcare outcomes for the Sussex population. The National Operations Service is being set up to support the NHSE Multi-Cancer Blood Test Screening Pilot through the provision of 3 main operational functions: Demand Management Team (local recruitment): will support the invitation of the selected population cohort, ensuring that capacity and demand is optimised. Call Centre Team (local recruitment): will manage all booking and query calls for participants and public accessing the call centre. Clinical Team (national recruitment): Will support the call centre with clinical queries from participants; will manage abnormal results, including contacting the participant and ensuring the onward referral into secondary care for diagnostic testing; provide referral safety netting and support local Trusts within the pilot areas with referrals. The National Operations Service Programme Director will: lead and manage all staff in the National Operations Service be responsible for engaging Operations Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Admin and Project Support managers and other senior staff in the complex management and clinical agenda including the preparation of operational performance and quality updates and plans to develop capacity and capability to deliver on NHSE priorities. be responsible for the development of capacity and capability of the call centre, invitations, clinical and admin teams to deliver the programme objectives and priorities. be accountable to the clinical director and NHSE for the delivery of all key operational, performance, quality and safety, financial and workforce targets be responsible for managing the relationship with NHSE throughout the pilot, attending NHSE Galleri Testing Programme Board, providing quality and performance reports as required and supporting the wider objectives of the screening pilot. be responsible for providing clinical support to local trusts engaged in the pilot See Job Description for further detail.

Lead the development of quality service plans and implementation and oversight of Trust Priority Strategies to support the Trust's strategic vision; monitoring implementation, outcomes and effectiveness for Trust Board level assurance. Produce effective plans with deliverable outcomes in line with Trust, National and local policy objectives. Ensure the provision of the Trusts Assurance Framework requirements Ensure Trust wide understanding of the organisational patient safety priorities through analysis of patient safety data and information gleaned from: clinical informatics, incident reporting, complaints, excellence reporting, PALS information, Freedom to Speak Up information, external review and inspection, staff feedback and other sources Lead and co-ordinate activities that promote excellence in clinical practice through utilisation of Quality Improvement methodology, research and evidence based practice Work with the Director of Nursing to develop, approve and implement standards of clinical practice and protocols ensuring the on-going development of evidence based practice across the Trust Develop opportunities for individuals and teams and share excellence in practice to enable the delivery of safe, effective and evidence based care, working in collaboration with colleagues from other organisations to develop effective networks for discussion and dissemination of Quality and Safety developments Lead on embedding a culture of quality within the service incorporating patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness Foster a culture which values learning and continuing professional development and which empowers staff to achieve excellence in the delivery of patient care within the Trust. Provide professional leadership and advice regarding all professional matters Provide expertise and participate in strategic planning for the service and wider Trust Support the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust Nursing & Allied Health Professional Strategy, measuring the impact it has on patient care and the patient experience within the service For more information in regards to the role, please take a look at the JD & PS
