• Assist the Chief Engineer to oversees the engineering/maintenance operations of the hotel.

• Be responsible to ensure that all the engineering and maintenance activities of the hotel are conducted to the highest professional standards at all times, with guest comfort and safety being the highest priority.

• Assist the Chief Engineer in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.

• Assist the Chief Engineer to develop preventive maintenance programs to ensure the facility is maintained and in service for our guests (example: lighting, refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning, water treatment systems, and pools)

• Assist the Chief Engineer to coordinate projects with general contractor and sub-contractor, and ensure quality work is performed cost-effectively

• Assist Chief Engineer to develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimise expenses

• Educate and train all engineering colleagues in compliance with governmental and safety regulations

• Ensure the team is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties

• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments

• Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests.

What We Need From You

• Certified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• Five years operating experience in a hotel engineering department

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory position in a hotel engineering department or a related field with a proven record of accomplishment or success.

• Experience in hotel renovation is an advantage

• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering

• Highly committed to delivering a high level of guests experience

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, particularly to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a lead team member providing advice on constructability and buildability.
• Review and assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers & subcontractors. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and manage any disputes or claims that may arise.
• Draft Construction Strategy including Sequencing, Scheduling and Prioritisation
• Review and challenge project budgets and forecast to ensure a consistent and deliverable approach is adopted.
• Identify areas for process improvement innovation and cost savings.
• Drafting construction management plan, construction phase plan
• Provide input into Pre-Construction
• Advice on Constructability at Optioneering meetings/ design reviews
• Undertake Constructability reviews during Design phase
• Approach to ECI and Contractor involvement selection
• Identify long lead items procurement
• Ensure the Contractor’s construction methods, procedures and practices are properly complied with in all respects, particularly those relating to quality assurance, safety, personnel and industrial relations.

• Responsible for the delivery of projects under her/his control. Serve as the main point of contact throughout the project.
• Responsible for all safety, health, environment and quality matters ensuring adherence to statutory and legal requirements and Company procedures.
• Provide the Technical Pre-Sales team where necessary, with support on tenders regarding programme, technical matters and local supply chain, as well as post tender and pre-award support.

Requirements:

• At least 10 - 15 years in construction management/ project management.
• Substantial experience of managing large construction projects and construction management teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Demonstrable knowledge and application of construction management methodologies
• Experience in Data Centre build industry will be an advantage.
• Proven track record in complex project delivery similar technical sectors.
• Working knowledge of construction management software and tools
• Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets, value engineering and optimizing cost reduction
• Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills
• Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the successful incumbent will provide leadership in efficient maintenance and project management covering a range of project requirements from modification, maintenance, refurbishment and coordinating engineering assessments.

Responsibilities include - Plan, budget, schedule, implement and monitor overall facilities, building and environmental related developments to align with business objectives and ensure operational effectiveness in terms of cost, time, safety and quality.

Responsible for establishing tender specifications, evaluation of tenders and appointment of contractors.

To monitor and report progress of project to Management, perform quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contractual requirements and industry standards, and seek justification/approval for deviation in design and expenditure.

To ensure that project documentation and financial metrics are updated and correct.

To oversee overall maintenance and engineering operations, verify all routine maintenance, repairs and replacements. To establish preventive and predictive maintenance systems and procedures.

You must be familiar with the local authorities' approval procedures, obtain and secure all necessary planning and technical approvals, scrutinize contract documents and drawings.

You have to work closely with the operations to review maintenance contracts and expenditure procurement contracts and outsourced contracts.

You should possess a Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical & Electronics/Aircon/M&E with minimum 10 years experience in Hotel/Building Facility Management.

You should have knowledge of Electrical/Aircon/Plumbing/

Carpentry/Painting and Hotel operations.
