The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate manufacturing processes by developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh Corporation’s engineering standards and processes.
Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects.
Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build.
Analyze space requirements, workflow and designs layout for equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Review and process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, continuous improvement requests etc.
Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals.
Review legislative and regulatory proposals or actions to determine impact on projects.
Review and recommend fixture and tooling design.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field.
One (1) – two (2) or more years of experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.
Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)
Robotic and Automation experience

The R&D team is seeking a very hardworking and passionate individual to help us identify and implement innovative solutions to address current and future health care needs in the Peripheral Vascular Access markets. Within BD Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) Research & Development, the associate in this position will be part of the Vascular Access Device R&D team. Our R&D Engineer's are responsible for developing and implementing new product designs, product improvements, and critical component changes for high volume, disposable medical devices.
The preferred candidate will have strong technical design skills, excellent written and oral skills, and leadership abilities. This candidate should possess a strong capability to interpret and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, quality policies, standard processes and procedures through appropriate communication, training, and education. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Technical Product Design:
Design and development product systems, subsystem and components by understanding design space with design options and tradeoffs, managing critical parameters, using design for manufacturing principles as well as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing tools.
Identify the best tools and approaches to effectively solve engineering problems to develop, optimize and/or analyze designs by applying the appropriate mix of first principles, analytical, computational and experimental methods.
Ensure the implementation and rigor of product development processes and design control procedures.
