About the role

Onshore Delivery Engineering within the Central Technical Organisation (CTO) is responsible for performing the engineering aspects of all Onshore Wind and Hydrogen projects; commencing at prospection, projects are to be technically specified and delivered through development, securing finance, and construction ensuring Engineering Excellence prior to handover into Asset Operations.

As the Civil Engineer you will provide key engineering resource within multi-discipline, project delivery engineering teams where you will manage all Civil aspects; co-ordinating and delivering Civil design and infrastructure that complies with the project requirements, whilst ensuring appropriate engineering design, quality standards and specifications are maintained.

What you’ll be doing

You'll provide expertise and focus on all matters related to Civil specificiation and design activiites on assigned Onshore Wind and Hydrogen projects, ensuring that deliveables are clearly identified and aligned within timelines and budgets.

- Develop suites of Civil technical specifications for inclusion within relevant tender documentation and assessments across Balance of Plant (BoP) work packages, including addressing technical queries.
- During the origination, design and construction of the Civil infrastructure you will ensure that operational learning and requirements are key considerations and lifetime costs are optimised.
- Manage the Civil engineering design activities and assist in producing the infrastructure design (via use of appropriate tools i.e., AutoCAD, Autotrack, GIS).
- Manage the Civil engineering design activites during the front-end engineer design (FEED) and detailed design stages supporting the Work Package Managers and procurement team to ensure delivery satisfies the requirments and timescales of the project.
- Responsible for ensuring Civil risks, assumptions, issues and decisions are recorded and addressed appropriately, providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure risk level is ALARP.
- Ensure a consistent approach to Civil delivery such that safety, quality, programme and value are measured and balanced to deliver optimised project outcomes.
- Responsible for fully documenting all Civil design assessments, decisions and recommendations for Design Assurance Reviews at critical phases of the project (conceptual design, pre-FID design, detailed design and delivered design) as defined within the Design Management Process.
- Perform technical and commercial due diligence, site visits, factory and site acceptance tests and support commissioning as required.
- Support the planning and prioritisation of suitably qualified and experienced Civil resource to meet Onshore business growth projects requirements, including the management and supervision of any required internal or external third parties (consultants, sub-contractors, designers, etc) for Civil deliverables.
- You will interface with the various Onshore Business Unit teams as well as the wider CTO Central Engineerig, Technical Govenance and Electricity Connections.


What do you need to be great at this role?

You’ll have experience in development, design and construction of power generation projects, ideally within wind and/or hydrogen.

- You’ll have an understanding of developing and delivering Civil Engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed engineering designs, including access roads, supporting structures, foundations and all other associated civil works.
- You’ll have working knowledge of Engineering industry standards and design, manufacture, installation and testing codes of practice and regulations for Civil works.
- You’ll have as minimum a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification / experience.
- You will have working knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations, design, construction and installation Codes of Practice.
- It would be advantageous for you to have experience and/or or a qualification in Project Management.

Salary Range: 

$70,500.00 - $123,400.00

For LTA project to be station at the site office

1. Procurement of subcontractors/ suppliers for day-to-day purchasing
2. Preparation of comparison tables for quotations submitted by subcontractors/ suppliers and recommendations to Project Management for approval
3. Taking off quantities, prepare bill of qualities and scope of work for subcontractors/ suppliers
4. Preparation of Letter Of Award and/or subcontract agreements for awarded subcontract works
5. Liaison with subcontractors and clients on the cost-related and contractual issues during the course of the works
6. Assessment of subcontractors/ suppliers' monthly progress claims including VO claims and prepare payment recommendations for the same
7. Preparation of final settlement of accounts for subcontractors
8. Assist in the preparation of budgetary cost report

Qualification/ Requirements

1. Degree in Civil & Structure Engineer (recognized by PEB)

2. Minimum 5 years Experience in Civil & Structures Work

Job Scope

1. To assist attend and prepare for tender/ quotation related matters

2. To plan and prepare for works as per required

3. To attend meeting with clients, authorities and others when necessary

4. To carry out work related to civil & structural such as construction building supervision, periodic structural inspections, road audit and any other jobs as per instructed.

5. To prepare reports and any other necessary paper works as required by clients, authorities or company.

6. To carry out other tasks/ instructions from Project Director, director and management of the company.

Softskill

1. Able to communicate and have good writing skill in English

2. Have good knowledge in computer skill such as Microsoft Office, Design softwares and Autocaad.

3. Able to deliver quality works under short deadline.

-We are looking for QS for tendering & project management in sector of Builder and Civil works.

-Need at least 4-7 years of relevant experience in construction field.

-Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.

-Liaising with managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

-Preparing contract documents, working with quantities, taking off measurement, providing cost estimation.

-Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.

-Able to attend/chair meetings, presentation and reply to PTQ withing the stipulated timeline.

-Working hours 8:30am to 6pm monday to friday and will be subject to Overtime to meet schedule and deadlines.

-Need to undertsand current market trend and source for local or forigen supplier.

Job Description

· Prepare tender submission, handle progress claims, variation orders and finalize project accounts

· Administration of tenders - prepare Quotation, tender and contract documents including Bill of Quantities , cost estimation, cost control and budgeting

· Taking off quantity for tender.

· Assist contract managers with other duties as required from time to time.

Requirements

· Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

· Possess 2-3 years of working experience in construction field, however marine construction is a plus.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCad

· Able to start work immediately!
